I knew there was an older version but never saw it.

I never seen American Graffiti, maybe one of these days. I didn't think you did but that is good :) OK, here's 1951's Quo Vadis :!:

Image

The title means..."Where are you Going?".

Image

It stars Robert Taylor.

Image

Peter Ustinov is NERO, he is tremendously funny here :!:

Image

Patricia Laffron is Poppaea and she is really something else.

Image

Deborah Kerr is pretty good.

Image

Marina Berti is Eunice and she is very nice ;)

Also, the 6 foot 6 boxer Buddy Baer of the Baer family appears and he is awesome here :!: Strangely, he plays Ursus, the scientific name for Bear :o

Great visuals :!:

Here's the Trailer to this great movie.

The legendary Miklós Rózsa did the music for this one too, stuff like this brought so much joy to My Grandpa PoPo :)

Another is coming up :)

There's a ton of great exclusive stuff to watch if you have Amazon Prime. Huh, about that. We'll, that's the one that tells the story of Nero wanting to burn Rome :!: Next is Stanley Kubrick's Spartacus from 1960 :!:

Kirk Douglas is the titled character.

I have seen bits and pieces of Spartacus but never saw the whole. Great cast. So much of thta would be CGI now, but it looks better like that.

Spartacus is a great but has such a sad ending. Oh yes, I said before, I've really learned to appreciate these older movies because you it's not CGI. You see thousands of REAL people in them, animals too. They seem more of real life thing compared to later movies. I;m going to hold off on the next since you posted Ewoks: The Battle for Endor, this year marks it's 40th Anniversary :!: I had spotlighted the Ewok movies before but this is something I can always talk about. My Grandparents recorded it for Me when it came TV (see the Commercial Topic if you haven't already). Still to this day, I think the beginning is really harsh when the Marauders kill her family :( The special effects is really decent with really cool creatures. The movie was really cool with Wilford Brimley being the star. At least Disney kept some of this and not placed it in Legends like the Blurrg & Wisties. My Mom recorded Me the Caravan of Courage a year prior :)

Peter Bernstein, the son of Elmer (The Ten Commandments, Airplane & Ghostbusters) did the music for both films. He's as good as his father, still his best and My fave score of his is My Science Project :)
