Wonder Woman Bronze Age
Much like my GA WW this is just a WW figure repurposed. I sanded down the WW breast emblem and sculpted the eagle wings and ab piece and painted. I painted the bracelets and had to touch up the boots and swap the head for the one that came off the figure for my GA WW. The seller I got it from had touched it up with gold to resemble their "golden Amazon Warrior glow". I have no clue what the hell he's talking about "Amazon glow". Is it a mythology thing? Fortunately most of it rubbed off - and took some paint with it which is why I had to touch up the boots - it also dulled the crap out of the white stripes on the boots. I didn't try to get the gold out of the hair as I had the extra head and could just replace it. If I need the head further down the line for something I'll revisit it but otherwise . . .
Wendy, Marvin & Wonderdog
Marvin is a Diablo Suicide Squad figure with Robin cape and GA head. I sanded down the mask as best I could. I was concerned about ruining the nose and other bits so I maybe didn't do as great a job as it takes but I'm just doing this for me, I ain't trying to win awards. I wanted the curly-q Robin head because the hair style seemed a great fit for Marvin.
Wonderdog is an Ace League of Super-Pets figure. I was actually elated when I saw him on eBay. I was trying to figure out how to do a Wonderdog and this just fell into my lap. Serendipity at work. I just painted him and sanded down the inner ear parts to flatten them out. I may decide to bend his ears down to get a more accurate portrayal or I may not.
Wendy is a combination of a Cassie Sandsmark Wonder Girl, Star Sapphire and Vixen. Waist to neck is WG, the collar is Sapphire and legs and head are Vixen. I liked WG for the body because tunic - or whatever you call it - I thought would be great for Wendy's sweater plus she has the belt line. I know she always wore a full torso sweater - or whatever - but I thought the half sweater would have a more modern look. The bracelets I also thought would be great for her cuffs. I also had an extra Star Sapphire collar handy so I added that so I wouldn't have sculpt one. I switched the complete leg-ature with Vixen because WG has the boots and Vixen had a more flat heel plus the accents on the feet which I painted black to add some design flair and tried my best to sculpt the bottom of her legs to resemble her pants legs. I had tried looking at other heads but Vixen had the short hairdo required for Wendy so I just took some of the Hair in front of her eye off to open things up a bit, cut her earrings off and painted.
I did the Jr Super-Heroes for something I'd been working on but didn't want to reveal until it was complete and now it is so I'll be posting new pics to my collection thread in the next few days. I hope you like my efforts.
Savant - I really thought long and hard about Orion's head twist thing. I have an idea about how to work it but I'm not sure if it'll ultimately work. I'm thinking MOTU Man-E-Faces or even a LOTDK Clayface - at least for the wheel o'heads anyway. If not I do have an idea how to work it out it just wouldn't be a true remake just an "in the spirit of" remake. Unfortunately, Mattel only did the New Gods head and not his beastly Apokoliptian head BUT! DCD did give us both heads in the Orion/Darkseid 2pk. The Kirby version also has both heads but is too artist specific I think to meld with DCUC but it would beastly enough so maybe wouldn't be off-putting. So, we'll see.
