I love that Cap helmet, the paint work looks so clean. At first I thought that you hollowed out the head yourself.

Thanks, Olds. Well, it is a cast of a hallowed out Cap head. That's how the caster originally made it. I did hand-paint the wings on the sides to match the original head & the "A" on the front. I cheated a little bit with painting the "A". I had a sheet of 1/4" vinyl letter, like you'd buy at Staples or an office supply store. I used the negative part of the sheet, as a small mask, to paint the letter "A", including the tiny triangle for inside of the "A". Then, just carefully paint inside of the "mask"
Thanks for the compliment, Olds, sir. It's always great to hear from people, who's work you admire. It pushes you and makes you the slightest bit better. Plus, it gives you confidence to try doing things that you might not have tried to tackle before.....like that Agent Coulson head. I would have never even thought of trying to paint one of those heads, before seeing how amazing yours came out.

Cool Cap helmet. I'm a sucker for removable accessories. What does he look like with the helmet all the way on? Nice work on the 'A'. Letters are always fun to paint. Very clean.

Thanks, Packer! It's not a helmet that can actually fit on his head. it's more like a swappable head, without the face and eyes inside the helmet. It's more of a prop or accessory for him to hold, like the picture of him with the flag behind him.

Gotcha. Still, considering the number of Caps they put out anything to individualize them pretty nice to have.

I know it's not the norm, since it's usually superhero(Marvel or DC) figure customs posted, here. BUT, I recently made a custom Old Obi Wan Kenobi from Star Wars A New Hope

I felt a great disturbance in the Force, as if millions of fans cried out for a New Hope Ben Kenobi and Hasbro gave them silence.

I'm holding out for a Hasbro version but the way their paint apps have gone since the early waves I doubt he'll look this good.

What did you use for a head? Is that cloak off eBay? He looks awesome. The Force is strong with this one.

Yeah, Packer. that's exactly how I felt, too. I thought, for sure, that Hasbro would premiere Old Ben at ToyFair, a few weeks ago....BUT, Nahhhh!

The Paint apps have become less and less. Yoda was the perfect example of that. His prototype looked nothing like the production figure. The sculpt was there, but no paint. Ben, probably won't look as good and definitely won't include the cloak.

I used a cast, shrunken from the Hot Toys Obi Wan. Yes, the cloak is from Ebay. Thanks VERY much for the compliment. I am really pleased with how he turned out. I remade the "skirt" since I took those pictures. I made it about a 1/4" longer so i just touched the top of his boot, at the ankles.
