I do think The Challenge is an obscure film. I never seen Big Girls Don't Cry... They Get Even from 1991. I saw Ben Savage That was Hillary Wolf from the first two Home Alone films. I saw David Strathairn there too. Even though it wasn't under the best circumstances, she got a big family, something I never had the chance to have That looked pretty good.
Okay, back to Steven Seagal. Here's his second movie, Hard to Kill from 1990
This one was pretty good. We actually didn't rented this one, it was on HBO...gosh HBO was like THE channel back then. It also stars Seagal's real life ex-wife Kelly LeBrock, William Sadler, Frederick Coffin and Branscombe Richmond.
The musical score is very decent by David Michael Frank who did Seagal's Above the Law
Tomorrow I'm going to post another Segal film that came out in 1990, this is one is My all-time fave Seagal film
The Past isn't a Wilderness of Horrors - We Grow Old Because We Stop Playing - DTA - If it's been done in a movie, then most likely it's already been done in Real Life - ALWAYS Watch the Skies - Question Everything, FTW! = Me + Various <-->
That's great. See, We would have too but by time we moved to the new house it was already out and HBO had it so We took advantage of it
I've never seen nor knew about Noobz before
Okay, here's My all-time fave Steve Seagal film. It also came out in the great fun year of 1990. It's called Marked For Death
He's really good here, arguably his best performance. He uses guns...
as well as swords. This is one of his only films where you see him being a sword-wielder using the art of Bushido
It co-stars Keith David as his partner...
and Joanna Pacula as an ally.
The film is about Seagal whom is a DEA agent battling the Jamaican Posse in Illionois
Their lead by Screwface, master of twin magic
There is some spooky element in this one featuring VOODOO
Now there's a cool thing that I have always thought. This always had a vibe to Me being a little similar like Predator 2. It was very violent & hardcore like Predator 2. Both films came out in 1990 and had a major Jamaican factor. This picture of Seagal and the background also really reminds Me of Predator 2
Now here's this trivia moment that I've always digged. Danny Trejo is in Marked For Death with Seagal...
20 years later in the huge movie year of 2010, they encounter each other again in 2010's awesome Machete
Also in 2010, Trejo would be in Predators
Okay, so as you saw all of that stuff, here's the Marked For Death trailer, I just love the style of this film
The music was by James Newton Howard in one of his first big scores. It was pretty good
The Past isn't a Wilderness of Horrors - We Grow Old Because We Stop Playing - DTA - If it's been done in a movie, then most likely it's already been done in Real Life - ALWAYS Watch the Skies - Question Everything, FTW! = Me + Various <-->
I remember that one pretty well for all the voodoo stuff. I think up until Under Siege I'd watch his films, but at some point I got tired of the same kind of character over and over again.
"Somewhere in a lonely hotel room, there's a guy starting to realize that eternal fate has turned its back on him. It's 2 AM."
Well that's good that you know that one. Under Siege was pretty good. After The Glimmer Man, I was getting disappointment how toned down his movies were becoming. I mean ever since I saw Marked For Death I wanted more of that but really MFD is kinda like no other film. What an all-star cast in Longshot.
Okay, here's a big double header of Universal Solder First up is the great 1992 film. I just loved this one.
The film is directed by Roland Emmerich who would later on do epics such Stargate, ID4, Godzilla 98, The Patriot, 10.000 BC & 2012
It stars Jean-Claude Van Damme & Dolph Lundgren
Tom "Tiny" Lister Jr. aka "The Human Wrecking Machine" Zues is in it and when I first saw him, I marked out and said that's Zues
Also the great looking Ally Walker plays a goof reporter.
Dick Tracy's Ed O'Ross plays a colonel responsible for The Universal program.
Predator 2's Lilyan Chauvin & Ron Howard's daddy, Rance Howard make a surprising appearance.
Here's the trailer.
Here's a great Cue by Tangerine Dream's Christopher Franke
Now here's the 1999 film that has it's 25th anniversary this year, Universal Soldier: The Return
It stars Jean-Claude Van Damme & hot fitness babe Kianna Tom.
This was huge that Bill Goldberg was big part of the film. The hype on WCW Monday Nitro in 99 was something else.
Also, great Martial Artist Michael Jae-White is major force here.
Here's the trailer
Look in the Classic Music Video Topic as I'm going to do a special about these two films you don't want to miss
The Past isn't a Wilderness of Horrors - We Grow Old Because We Stop Playing - DTA - If it's been done in a movie, then most likely it's already been done in Real Life - ALWAYS Watch the Skies - Question Everything, FTW! = Me + Various <-->
I saw the first Universal Soldier. I don't think I saw the second one. I just wasn't into those types of films around that time. Roland Emmerich had a good run in the 90s for sure.
This movie just crossed my mind last night because I remember the ad in a bunch of comic books back then.
"Somewhere in a lonely hotel room, there's a guy starting to realize that eternal fate has turned its back on him. It's 2 AM."
The second one doesn't have the superb feel the first has but it's still quite fun. Yes, Emmerich sure did. He became one of My fave directors after ID4. Gosh, I'm sure you seen that in a lot of ads because I recall the hype of Joe's Apartment when MTV was still MTV
Okay, like The Challenge the other day being Scott Glenn's only film like that, well Rutger Hauer has a similar situation. He was in a great movie called Blind Fury from 1989 so this year marks it's 35th Anniversary
There's a ton of well known people here including Meg Foster, Randall "Tex" Cobb & Rick Overton. Here's the trailer
Here's the really cool music score by J. Peter Robinson who did a lot including 92' Wayne's World

Hauer was very good. I think Blind Fury is an obscure movie like The Challenge. I think of this stuff I've seen & known since I was a youngster and I never thought most of it would be unknown in the future I just added the cool score by J. Peter Robinson to Blind Fury, check it out above Oh the Truman Show, that was quite different yet a great one.
So here comes a big one and one of My faves of ever of all-time. I've mentioned this off & one throughout time...it's...
When I was super into Arnold and wanted more of him I saw this movie at the rental store but darn it, I can'r recall which one, it was either Rainbow Video, Verna's Mr. T's or Annie Burke's Daughter's Movie Mogul. Whichever one it was it was a great time The movie is a Dystopian story written by Richard Bachman in 1982...this was actually a pseudonym of Stephen King
So the film takes place in 2019. The USA is in a totalitarian state as people's favorite television program is "The Running Man" which is a game show in which prisoners must run to freedom to avoid a brutal death...kinda like modern Roman Gladiators because people want blood, guts & war. This story is really like Orwell's 1984 with people being brainwashed by TV and to believe what they see & being told is the truth, content being censored & altered deceiving the plebeians and the economy gone to hell. There's one character in the film in a brief moment where he's being told he's like Mr. Spock and he's says "who's Mr. Spock" This scene right here is what I'm talking about how society is becoming as I type this...it's so imperative for today's kids & this generation to look back on the past, be taught this and not to ignore it because if they do, this is how their future will be
So, Arnold Schwarzenegger is Ben Richards. A wrongly accused and placed as "a Runner".
He's still really big here and not trimmed down yet.
The great looking Maria Conchita Alonso is Amber Mendez who also becomes a "runner" too. I find it strange that Arnold was in Predator the same year as The Running Man in 1987 then Maria would be in Predator 2 in 1990
Yaphet Kotto as Laughlin is a "a runner" and an ally to both. I first seen in Alien a while prior to this.
Damon Killian is the true villain and the creator of the game show played by Richard Dawson
"THE STALKERS"
Professor Subzero is played by the late great Prof. Toro Tanaka. I flipped out when I first saw him because I knew who he was and that he was a wrestler. "The Ice Man" is great and any hockey lover should get a kick out of his killer hockey player gimmick.
Buzzsaw is played by body builder & strongman Gus Rethwisch. During the same year he played Arnold the Barbarian in House 2: The Second Story which is one of My all-time fave films. Look for that in My Horror Topic in time. Gus was also in Twins & The Scorpion King as well. I find Buzzsaw a really awesome character.
Buzzsaw's partner is Dynamo played by Erland van Lidth of the Netherlands. His character is really cool. He's like a futuristic Roman soldier that looks like he just came out of the excellent 1982 arcade video game movie Tron He's an opera singer and I love his special effect and the score during his scenes because a movie version of Flight of the Valkyries plays. Unfortunately, the actor that played him died not too long after the film came out
The late great Jim Brown, the legendary football player plays Fireball whom is really a great one
Now, this was absolutely huge for Me. Jesse :The Body" Ventura plays Captain Freedom, the multi-time champion that retired undefeated
Kurt Fuller plays Tony, a company goon for Killian. It's cool that Fuller is in this because two years in 1989, he would be in No Holds Barred & Ghostbusters II
Now here we go again with Sven-Ole Thorsen. I just posted about him a couple times recently. He was Arnold's best fiend & stunt double. This is the film when I really noticed him as he plays Sven the Security Guard/Bodyguard for Killian. Here you can see how much he resembles Arnold and that he's bigger than him.
He's even bigger than Ventura
Strangely, with the network & dancers, this reminds Me of Scrooged that would come out a year later. Now here's the trailer
Now as I said before about this film being like Orwell's 1984. Well, there's a lot to look for. For example, deepfaking wasn't a known thing till recently. Well, Hollywood was showing us in Running Man that Deepfakes existed in at least 1987. Watch this brutal scene when Jesse Ventura fights Arnold
The musical score is by Harold Faltermeyer whom is really good. Portions of the score is on My great Arnold CD. My Grandma really loved the theme of it. Here's this superb suite
So that will be My finale for this Topic since we'll be doing the Spooky Topics. I hope you've liked all of My Spotlights that I've shown thus far
The Past isn't a Wilderness of Horrors - We Grow Old Because We Stop Playing - DTA - If it's been done in a movie, then most likely it's already been done in Real Life - ALWAYS Watch the Skies - Question Everything, FTW! = Me + Various <-->
Ah The Running Man was one of my favorite movies from that time. Such a great cast. And very quotable. Our favoirte was the line, "There's nothing funny about a dicklesss moron with a battery up his ass." And to this day when someone askes where someone went, I'll sometimes say, "they're problem with Whitman, Price, and Haddad basking under the Maui sun!"
"Somewhere in a lonely hotel room, there's a guy starting to realize that eternal fate has turned its back on him. It's 2 AM."
