I wanted a more militant look for him and altered his back story. When Krypton exploded the tiny rocket carrying Kal-El didn't crash land on Earth but on War World! Raised by Mongul and named War-Boy he went unchallenged by all.

I call the other one "Starfish" Intergalactic Space Pirate
