Oh, it was the lighting I see. One thing that makes this really authentic is that there is still snow outside Did you get anything from the Giftshop Well, that was lucky there for you and your Family Packer Okay, I will be looking

I wound up getting a shirt, maybe I'll take a pic and share it when I get a chance. Until then here's the upstairs, and actually more of the downstairs after we came back down. The upstairs had the bedrooms and a bathroom, and that was it. Sadly there was one thing missing. I looked for it around the Christmas tree and then up in the boys' room, but it wasn't there. One gift Randy gets is a zeppelin and he says, "A zeppelin! Whoopee!" and that's a quote I always repeat/ But I saw no zeppelin. So finally I asked the curator and he said not too many people have asked him that, but they actually have been unable to find a replica or any company that could make one that looks like the one in the film so they still do not have a zeppelin. Maybe someday.

More of the downstairs and then some outside shots. If you picked up the phone you could hear the conversation between Ralphie's mom and Schwartz's mom where she tells her what Ralphie said. And he didn't say fudge!

Amazing about the second floor. Well, that shows you how many people think alike and, in this day, & age, most of society does That's something about the phone I mean that is super cool and seeing you in the tub and having the red bar of soap in your mouth is quite The comic stuff I know is in the film but gosh, I didn't see them movie posters in the film I seriously do not recall the 1933 King Kong Poster in the movie I mean A Christmas Story takes place in the 40s so King Kong was still a big thing then. Next time I watch it, I gotta check that out That was really great Packer

It's funny, I saw that King Kong poster and my first thought was, "I have to take a picture of that for Brandon!" But I don't recall seeing it in the movie either, but it was on the wall next to the door, and you really only see the boys in bed and at the desk which was by the window from what I recall at the moment, so there'd be no reason for any images of the doorway. I'll post pics from the museum later today.

Alright, here's the museum images. You may see something that surpises you.
Now looking at those images you may've said, ""What the heck, there's a Flash Gordon and Meng the Merciless costumes?" Apparently there was a filmed dream sequence where Ralphie saves Flash Gordon from Meng using his Red Rider BB GUn but it was cut from the film. And now you know.

Hey Pb, wow! Looks like an amazing time. Thanks for taking the time to snap all these amazing photos. That Christmas Story house is tremendous. I love all the crazy props in there.
That's so awesome that you're able to get right up and personal with those set pieces.
I can't believe how cool those miniature dioramas look. This is definitely a must see thing for the future for sure!!!

Thanks, it's definitely a cool place to see if you're a fan of the film. Some of the cool things I learned was Jack Nicholson was the first choice for the father. A lot of it was filmed in Niagara Falls, Ont. hence the Key to Niagara Falls. And the actor who plays Swede in the street, was the director of the film, and he's wearing a Miami Dolphins winter hat that he had to turn around since the Dolphins weren't even founded until 1966.
I might post some bonus pics from Utica this past weekend.
