Thanks PB :) Oh yes, if you know Bruce Campbell then you'll know what to expect. Now that 1940 Black Friday film actually takes place on Friday the 13th too..look at the pic I provided above  That is an absolute classic. The music was H,J, Salter, he did a ton of Universal Monster films. Thanks Packer for the trivia, I didn't know most of that trivia Packer :) As a heads up, I wanted to say a while ago, I posted another Universal Monster film in My Cryptozoology Topic called Monster on the Campus from 1958 :blaq:

Image

Even though its a great horror film, I didn't originally post it here in My Horror Topic because it's arguably the most important Cryptid movie there is as it shows you that creatures that was thought to be have been extinct for hundreds of millions of years are alive well today which are known as Living Fossils and Animals from "The Lazarus Effect". You can see My special spotlight here as I go into major detail and explain the history ---> http://www.dctoyrevolution.org/viewtopic.php?f=22&t=1111&p=54423#p54423

More entries to come soon here so be alert for that :blbat:

Re: The Official Horror Talk Topic!

Postby BrandonDaCollector » Mon Dec 09, 2024 10:22 am

So before I get to this important entry, here's a continuation of the Peacock Video that I posted in My Classic Kaiju Topic because it features the epic 2005 King Kong which is really a Holiday movie as Me & My Mom saw it on Christmas Night 2005 on it's Release Date but the second hour is nothing but a horror fest not to mention their showing Jurassic World which really, I consider the whole Jurassic Park franchise a deceiving horror one. They also show Twisters which I will get to that in time elsewhere. Here's the cool video :scbat: :scww: :blaq:

So today's entry will be a special one as it will focus on the 50th Anniversary of KOLCHAK: THE NIGHT STALKER which is still available to watch in its entirety on Peacock as I type this right now :blbat:

Image

Right now, Packer currently has his Avatar none other than Kolchak. I wanted to post this a long while ago but I was having delays & such but the main thing is I'm doing it now :) Before you go any further, play this great remake of the wonderful theme. Put it on loop so you get in the zone while you read & see what I have in store here :blsm:

As I said, this is for the 50th Anniversary of Kolchak: The Night Stalker. It ran on TV from 1974 - 1975 for only one season of only 13 episodes...that was/is way too short for such an exciting, spooky show like this  Imagine if the attention & effort of other shows that are half as interesting would have been put into Kolchak: The Night Stalker but of course the least interesting shows always get more love than the good ones which still continues to this pathetic modern day and that's one of the things that turns Me off from watching TV which it's been like that to Me for years now :batsmh: :wwsmh: :smsmh:

Image

I first knew about the show because of My Grandma MiMi. She was a big fan of Darren McGavin who plays the titled character. She knew I love spooky stuff like monsters, creatures and the like so she wanted Me to see it. She rented it from one of Our great Movie Rental Outlets that I've deeply expressed about in My Odds & Ends on Page 5. I was like holy cow, that's the guy from A Christmas Story :scbat: So I got into it right away. You can clearly tell that this is by Universal and very reminiscent of Universal Monsters as it looks & feels like it which in fact many consider it be part of the super awesome spooky franchise :blaq: I bought a VHS of it a long time ago which I may showcase later on in My Odds & Ends which this is the cover to the that I own :blww:

Image

So, just this past Halloween, Me & My Mom watched the whole show on Peacock around the spooky, scary time. She told Me her memories how she & her Mom, My Grandma MiMi would watch the show among other stuff late at night on TV after My Grandpa PoPo would go to bed for work. I loved that she told Me that. I hope there's other parents & guardians, younger & older doing that because it's so important for youngsters and even older people like Myself to know...your never too old to know the past ;) Imagine kids today telling their kids & grandchildren their stories...this is why it's so darn crucial :) So, now here's about the actual Television Program of Kolchak: The Night Stalker :blhal: I love how they showed the Chicago landscape and showing you the title of each episode :)

Image

Darren McGavin plays Carl Kolchak, the one man gang news reporter that always get's himself into eerie situations and finding out that creatures of the night and myths & legends are in fact real but unfortunately he never get's to publish what he sees so the world is still left in the dark while most of it doesn't believe in the supernatural  I like how his expressions are. I always pay attention to facial expressions on people I mean it's one of the things that defines us as humans :)

Image
Image
Image
Image
Image
Image

Jack Grinnageas Ron Updyke, Kolchak' eccentric co-worker and Simon Oakland as Tony Vincenzo, Kolchak's alway's moody, cranky, grochy, loud, hyper & unenjoyable boss :batsmh: :wwsmh: :smsmh:

Image

Ruth McDevitt as co-worker Emily Cowles + Edith Cowels & Elderly Woman.

Image

Carol Ann Susi as co-worker Monique Marmelstein.

Image

William Daniels as Police Lt. Jack Matteo.

Image

Keenan Wynn as Capt. Joe 'Mad Dog' Siska.

Image

John Dehner: Capt. Vernon Rausch.

Image

It had great guest stars like Tom Skerritt....

Image

Erik Estrada...

Image

Fred Beir...

Image

Kathie Browne...

Image

and the 7 foot+ giant...Richard "Jaws" Kiel as The Diablero and Bigfoot-like Monster :blaq:

Image
Image
Image
Image

It would have some nice looking womem now and then.

Image

All of the episodes were great and Many of them were different and dealt with many classic stuff like Vampires, Werewolves, Jack the Ripper and more. There was one with an Extraterrestrial with many elements that has been seen in countless programs on the History Channel & YouTube which they make it all sound recent yet it was seen in Kolchak in the 70s, plebeians still haven't learned what Hollyweird is showing & telling them for decades now...it's all in the past, always look back :!: There was another great episode with a Monster, humanoid Reptile deep within the underground foundations of Earth...again, their telling you this stuff as the obsession about Reptilians was before the 80s  The creature was very similar like a Kaiju which this one is arguably My fave one of all :blmm:

Image

Here's this great ABC Presentation of the great series, look how classic this was then :blbat:

Here's two different openings of Kolchak: The Night Stalker.

Here's a variant of the Opening plus special features :blaq:

Kolchak signs off :blbat:

Here's the Closing Credits with the Theme :blsm:

Finally, I did Kolchak: The Night Stalker for it's 50th Anniversary :o I will see about entering the movies that spawned this great series at a later time :o This Friday is actually Friday the 13th which only comes once in a while in December  Look for a special post and possible entry then :blaq:

First, don't forget to check out My recent special of Kolchak: The Night Stalker :blbat: Today is...

Image

Here's this Friday the 13th - 13 Movie Marathon Commercial that was on TNN when it was no longer The Nashville Network as it became The National Network that even ECW & THE WWF/WWE was on there. Here's this cool Commercial :)

I got a lot more to come soon :blbat:

Postby BrandonDaCollector » Fri Dec 13, 2024 1:37 pm

Continuing this Friday the 13th special, I going to focus on the remake of Friday the 13th that came out in 2009 so this year marks it's 15th Anniversary  Now to set you in the horror zone, play & loop this Cue by Steve Jablonsky, it's one of My fave Cues he's ever done :blhal:

Now, last year, I posted a special Showcase of My DVD for Friday the 13th, you can see all of that glory plus much more here ---> https://www.dctoyrevolution.org/viewtopic.php?f=37&t=1176&start=110

No here's this great Poster :blaq:

Image

I saw this at Ronnies 20 Cine when it came out and boy it was some experience. Despite that it was a remake, I loved it. There was very few people there to see it so it was almost like I was alone. It was one the best horror films I ever saw on the big screen. Here's Camp Crystal Lake :!:

Image

It follows these young campers. Johnathan Sadowski from My Dad Says and is here and Ben Feldman that was in Cloverfield that looks like Robert Downey Jr.'s clone :!:

Image

There's a couple hot women here as well, one is played by Ammanda Rigetti...

Image

and the other is played by America Olivo :o

Image
Image

After they encounter Jason Voorhees whom is the huge, maniac killer, we're introduced to Jared Padalecki from the great Supernatural TV Show who is looking for his sister played by Rigetti. It's the opposite of the Redfields in Resident Evil :blhal:

Image

These are your supporting characters for Jason destroy like any other FT13 Movie.

Image

Your three main babes here are Julianna Guill, Danielle Panabaker & Willa Ford

Image

Julianna is My fave of the three. She's very deceivingly hot & super sweet.

Image
Image
Image

She has very great sex scene with Travis Van Winkle, this was quite unexpected really. This was 2009 which as I said before, 2005 - 2010 was like the 80s in films. I'm only going to leave it with this hint

Image
Image
Image

Richard Burgi is the Sheriff.

Image

Now, here's a quote from Pacler's Monster of the Day Topic. I featured this new Jason there :!:

BrandonDaCollector wrote:Since today is Friday the 13th, I'm going all out a different route and focusing on the 2009 reboot cause I loved it so My monster today is Jason Voorhees :batshock: :wwshock: :smgasp:

Image

Like I said before in the Coming Soons topic I love how this one is and that he's the size of Kane. I loved the way he moved and all his characteristics, he wasn't like the previous Jason incarnations. This guy meant total business :blaq:

Image

It was tremendous seeing this new film at the theater in the nearly dark room with only a handful of people if even that. I was quite excited about it ;)

Image

Really this is arguably My favorite of the whole franchise, it was so dark, gritty, violent, nasty and all that stuff :blbat:

Image
Image
Image
Image

Here's Derek Mears who plays Jason Voorhees plus he's also played a Predator too

Image

Also, Nana Visitor plays Pamela Voorhees :blww:

Image

Here's the Trailer :!:

Lots more to come soon :blbat:

MERRY CHRISTMAS :scbat: :scww: :scsm: :scmm: :schal: :scbaf:

So, what entry do I have in-store for Christmas :? Well, here's this one called The Remaining which came out in 2014, 10 years ago this year :!:

Image

It's about The Rapture. If you don't know about this then there's much to research & learn. There's many movies about this including the original & reboot of Left Behind Franchise. Why am I posting this now on Christmas you ask :? Not only is this film Biblical but it also takes place during Christmas time and on the day which is really apropos for this to happen  This movie is by Sony and there's a lot of stuff that happens here

Image
Image

Now, if you seen My special for the reboot of 2009's Friday the 13th just recently then you saw the film had some hot women. After the year of the tone down of 2011 happen and developed to where we are now, stuff was changing and in movies it's like where do we go from here :?: Well, there was some good females in this film which are...

Alexa PenaVega

Image

Italia Ricci

Image

Liz E. Morgan

Image

Hayley Lovitt

Image

Now there's one guy that's a familiar face that was in this & that was John Pyper-Ferguson.

Image

This movie has some surprising & scary moments.

Image

Here's the trailers.

The musical score was by Nathan Whitehead whom is known for his great work for The Purge Franchise and even 2011's Transformers: Dark of the Moon...here's some great samples of his score for The Remaining as I arranged it to tell the story in a musical manner :blbat:

If you haven't already, make sure you see My special about Kolchak: The Night Stalker plus other great stuff. More fun horror stuff to come soon :scbat:

Next up is DC' Swamp Thing :batwink: :wwshock: :smgasp: Like I've mentioned and stuff that most people don't pay attention to or even notice, that he wasn't first :? Marvel's Man Thing was however they both came out just months of each other in 1971

Image

Of course with most people, the first is usually over looked then fall in Limbo & Oblivion or just become something that's just there  Examples that I've spoke about before is Darkseid & Thanos, Superstar Billy Graham & Hulk Hogan, Go-Bots & Transformers, BijouFlix & Netflix, I could go on & on :batsmh: :wwsmh: :smsmh:

Image

First before I get into the movies, here's this great comic stuff that Swamp Thing

Image
Image

Now here's the 1982 Wes Craven classic film...

Image

yes, if you didn't know, he did Swamp Thing 2 years before A Nightmare on Elm Street which by the way, this year marks the 40th Anniversary of that 1984 horror classic as well :o

Image

My Grandma MiMi bought Me the Swamp Thing VHS over a Anniie Burke's Daughter's Movie Mogul for My Birthday in 1988/89 which I showcased all all of this great stuff of My past in My all-crucial Odds & Ends a long while back. So Swamp Thing's Art is really cool a syou see the hero with busty Adrienne Barbeau :batwink:

Image

Along with her is Ray Wise who plays the creature before his tragic incident.

Image

I've featured Barbeau before within My great Horror Topic before I mean how can you cannot talk about this scream queen :batconfused: :wwsmh: :smgasp:

Image

She is quite good in this movie...

Image

and she is Swampy's love interest. In his creature form he is played by stuntman Dick Durock.

Image
Image

The villain Dr. Arcane is played Louis Jourdan

Image

He get's transformed into this monstrosity :!:

Image
Image

Here's the trailer :blbat:

Here's this classic TV Spot :blww:

Now this music is by Harry Manfredini whom is known for his great horror scores for the Friday the 13th Franchise,. If you know his writing for that then when you play this Cue, you'll know it's this horror master :blsm:

Now here we go with the 35th Anniversary of 1989's The Return of Swamp Thing :o I found this over at Verna's Mr. T's Video Rentals which again, I expressed this deeply in My Odds & Ends as well.

Image

I just loved this film :)

Image

This came out around the same time as 1989's No Holds Barred which I have spotlighted & showcased many times on this board as it's open of My all-time faves. The Return of Swamp Thing is ways is like that classic and Swamp Thing looks way better in this is and is like a wrestler too. He's more evolved and has adjusted to the swampy & boggy environment and has developed a lot of super powers an dis more of a hero than a monster.

Image

Heather Locklear is the female lead & Swamp Thing's new love interest. She looks quite stunning here. She's a botanist & adores plants way more than human beings and quite frankly i don't blame her. When she encounters Swamp Thing after he rescues her, she really falls in love with him :batwink:

Image
Image

Dr. Arcane returns as he is played Louis Jourdan once more.

Image

His assistant Dr. Zurell to achieve his immortality is played by Sarah Douglas who looks so lovely her, If you recall, I've always loved how she was as I first seen her in the first two Superman films and Conan The Destroyer.

Image

Ace Mask is her partner Dr. Rochell...

Image

after the betrayal, she locks him in the lab and he transformers into this unintentionally hilarious mutated goon that I've always liked

Image
Image

Now Dr, Arcane has his own militia & mercenaries that has major experience from Vietnam.

Image

Two of the main ones is Gunn & Poinsettia. They love each other in a differnt way and show each other their battle scars.

Image
Image

They have really good chemistry together and is really an extremely underrated duo for a film.

Image

I really liked the woman that played her which is none other than Monique Gabrielle  She's really cool and she has those deceivingly wide big boobs :batwink:

Image

She's from Kansas City, Mo and is known to do more than just movies as she was the Penthouse Pet of the Month December 1982 :o She goes as a Brunette, Blonde & Redhead so she like a total package :batwink: She's appeared in many other movies as well.

Image
Image
Image

These two kids are something else, now this is a good example how kids were in the 80s.

Image
Image

Lee allows Tyalor to get into his Dad's Babe Magazines when this was a naughty but wowing thing :batwink: :smgasp:

Image

Image

Here's this Trailer.

And these TV Spots :!:

Now, get ready for a treat. Here's the beginning of the film that features Credence Clearwater Revival's "Born on the Bayou"...I've alway love dhow they showed the comics here :)

Now the musical score was by Chuck Cirino, he made a fantatstci score...here's the Swamp Thing Theme

And here's this that is perfect for Halloween time :blbat:

Image

So that is all for now, much more coming soon :scbat:

Re: The Official Horror Talk Topic!

Postby BrandonDaCollector » Tue Dec 31, 2024 10:41 am

So next up is two others that has their 35th Anniversary of the great year of 1989, the last of the 1980s which I reall this like it was last week :!:

First up is the remake of...

Image

I posted about this originally in the Halloween Topics but there was so little that was said about it especially the music. When i first saw the poster of this that I posted above I was like holy crap, that's Freddy Krueger :o So the movie is truly something else, it's almost like a alternate story of Jack the Ripper  It's fairly authentic and Robert Englund is great here. Here's the Trailer :blbat:

Here's this special featuring the man himself :blsm:

Now, this is a huge part of the movie. Here's this great Cue by Misha Segal. I just love darn aggressive & spooky this is. I posted this before too. The music makes the movie as I always say however I'm not the only one that says & knows this...just ask Spielberg & Lucas...I'd like to see more of society to acknowledged this. Listen to how horrifically cool this :blhal:

So now, here's Wes Craven's SHOCKER :!:

Image

This was something else too. This is teh first movie that I saw Mitch Pileggi (The X-Files's Director Skinner) in as well as Peter Berg. Here's the crazy Trailer :blbat:

Now here's the sound track...first up is the theme song by The Boys of Wrath :!:

Here's this one by Megadeth :blbaf:

Now, here's these 2 Cues by the great composer William Goldstein :blmm:

And here's the Reprise by The Boys of Wrath :blbat:

More to come soon :blww:

Next up that has it's 35th Anniversary is is...

Image

before I go any further, like I did with Universal's Kolchak, play this great Cue by the legendary Jerry Goldsmith to put you in the zone :batwink:

The is one of My all-time faves. 1989's & Universal's The Burbs. I'll never forget when My Grandma MiMi found this over at Annie Burke's Daughter's Movie Mogul, she was like boy Angel, look what I found...your gonna love this and boy she was right :)

Image

It's so amazing how this wonderful movie is hardly talked about by this distant society  This has always bee a household fave and talked about movie with My Family for years & years, Me & Mom just watched this for Halloween time. It's one of the best spooky comedies ever made. It's directed by Joe Dante who did Gremlins. It stars Tom Hanks in his best role as well as the late great Rick Ducommun in his most memorable movie.

Image

Also, Star Wars' Carrie Fisher is in the great movie an she looks pretty nice.

Image

Bruce Dern & Wendy Schaal is in the film...

Image

and Wendy is like your hottie on the block :batwink:

Image
Image

Corey Feldman was a very apropos member to have of the good cast.

Image

Gale Gordon & Darla play such good roles here.

Image

The mysterious new neighbors, The Klopeks are played by Henry Gibson, Courtney Gains & Brother Theodore.

Image
Image

As usual Robert Picardo & Dick Miller are in a Dante film.

Image

This movie is right up My alley because I've always been a person of wonder & curiosity and wanting to know more. I've always been a person that likes My neighborhood & local stuff which in today's society is something of the past as they never want to preserve their own history :batsmh: :wwsmh: :smsmh: I watch My neighborhood and how cryptic people are as much as I watch the skies :scmm: This movie is a good example of what I do all the time :)

Image
Image

Here's the great Trailer :)

Here's the absolute wonderful opening to the film. This is without a doubt one of the most fantastic openings to any film as you hear the late great legend Jerry Goldsmith's. My Grandparents loved this too especially My Grandpa PoPo, he loved this music :)

Here's the End Credits, here's more of Jerry Goldmsith's Score :)

The Burbs as I said, one of My all-time faves, probably in My Top 10  More coming soon :blbat:

So here's two classic films that has their 30th Anniversary from 1994...first up is the great Buena Vista/Disney sci-fi classic...

Image

The Puppet Masters film stars the late great Donald Sutherland as well as Julie Warner & Eric Thal...

Image

Warner looks pretty good in the film.

Image
Image
Image

Keith David is in it too, this was his third alien film as he was in John Carpenter's The Thing & They Live :!:

Image

Also, Will Patton and the late great Richard Belzer is here as well as well as...

Image

the late great Yaphet Kotto who was in 1979's Alien

Image

Even Marshall Bell from Total Recall & The X-Files is here :o

Image

Here's a look at The Puppet Masters who are Extraterritorial lifeforms that become "hosts" of a human body thus making them "Puppet Masters" :blhal:

Image

Here's these Trailers :)

The superb Movie Score is by Colin Towns, here's this fantastic suite :blsm:

Now, here's this Cue, arguably My fave of the whole Album, listen to this :blmm:

Next is the great buddy cop horror film Hellbound that stars Chuck Norris :o

Image

This was unfortunately THE VERY LAST of Globus Pictures aka Cannon before they went bankrupt and out of business  Their one of those great companies like Acclaim & Midway that brought us so many cool films & fun times yet is hardly mentioned anyone anymore :batsmh: :wwsmh: :smsmh: I've expressed how much I liked them in the past before. :)

Image
Image
Image

This is My all-time fave Chuck Norris movie that is directed by his brother Arron Norris and the stunt coordinator was by Chuck's son Eric :!:

Image

Norris is still great here.

Image

Chuck Norris' partner is Calvin Levels whom is kinda funny and they are really good together.

Image
Image

Sheree J. Wilson is in the film who was in the entire series of Walker: Texas Ranger

Image

This is a big religious movie...

Image
Image

Christopher Neame plays an ancient demon known as Prosatanos whom is an emissary of Satan which actually that's what his name means  . During the age of the Crusades, he tried to unleash Hell on Earth however, he was stopped by Richard the Lionheart and sealed away. Centuries later, he is freed by thieves and now wants to bring about the Apocalypse :!:

Image

He's under the persona as Professor Malcolm Lockley.

Image

I love how he looks and what he does :o He would be excellent in Mortal Kombat :blbat: As a weird coincidence, many elements of this 1994 supernatural actioner resembles the 1995 Mortal Kombat movie and George S. Clinton (The Austin Powers Trilogy) scored both of them :o

Image
Image

I've always liked the actor Christopher Neame, he's done a lot as he was in 1989's 007 License to Kill & Ghostbusters II, 1991's Suburban Commando and in 1997 he would play Jerec the Dark Jedi in one of the greatest Video Games of everof all-time...Dark Forces II: Jedi Knight :batwink:

Image

So, in Hellbound, he gets a good-looking busty hooker played by Zoe Trilling :batwink:

Image

He does fight Norris but how will he defeat this demon :?:

Image

Here's the Trailers :blbat:

Now, sadly, the score isn't available by George S. Clinton. It has a great musical score. I loved it so much I had My Grandma MiMi write to him back in the day and his assistant wrote back to Us in reasonable time and said to Us that it was never released  This was very disappointing, but I was grateful that We got a reply from them :)

Here's the entire movie for free on YouTube  You can hear the magnificent score in the beginning :!: As with any movie you never seen before, you want to see this on a large screen to get that full impact. Today is New Year's Eve, the 25th Anniversary of 1999. There was a lot of great films in that last year of classic times of the 90s. One movie that really was the most anticipated by Me other than Star Wars Episode 1: The Phantom Menace was End of Days :o

Before you go any further, play this great Cue by the ultra talented John Debney, the main title is so awesome, make sure you put it on loop :blbat:

When I first saw this Poster before the film came out I was like holy crap, that's Arnold and it's by Peter Hyams who did 97's The Relic which I featured greatly here within this great Horror Topic of Mine because its one of My all-time faves plus the music is by John Debney who did The Relic's terrific score as well as your hearing End o Day's great music right now, maybe you can tell it's by the same composer ;)

So the film stars Arnold Schwarzenegger in arguably his most important role of all as a rugged but very troubled cop who will have to test his faith to become the one to save the entire world :!:

Image

He looks different and really slimmed down but still as great as ever.

Image

Gabriel Byrne plays Satan, the adversary of the Almighty God.

Image

Robin Tunney plays the chosen one to birth his offspring. She looks pretty good and I believe this was the first film I seen her in. She quickly goes topless as you can see her somewhat large boobs from a distance from the side :batwink:

Image

She has good chemistry with Arnold.

Image

Kevin Pollak plays' Arnold's partner...

Image

while CCH Pounder is their boss.

Image

In very imperative roles is Rod Steiger...

Image

Udo Keier...

Image

and Mark Margolis as the Pope.

Image

The story takes place around Christmas Time but really focuses on New Year's as it is THE END of the Century :!:

Image

The true form of Satan is fantastic and created by the legendary late great Stan Winston :!:

So here's these two Trailers :)

As a sweet bonus, here's this great Cue by John Debney, listen to this

So that will do it for this special New Year's Eve spotlight. Make sure you look back at everything here that I've posted recently that you may have missed. Have a Very Happy & Safe New Year's :blbat: :blww: :blsm: :blmm: :blhal: :blbaf: :blaq:
