31 Days of Halloween: Wrestling Promos Death Rematch

Oh my God! It's the Karl Gotch of wrestling sections, step inside to catch all the latest on everything else from the defunct to Terry Funk, Dusty Rhodes to Rip Rogers, the Nature Boy to the Natural Born Thrillers to the National Treasure. Vince Russo says, bro, this is the place to be, bro.

Was it a planned break or did he just leave?

Ah, Sage Sin Supreme Sage the Pumpkin Queen. I was gonna post her a tiny bit before Halloween but you beat Me to it however there's plenty of her stuff on YT. When I first saw her long ago I thought she was really something. She's one of the few women that truly does extreme stuff. I'll see about posting what's she's for later on.

Okay, to save time, this is directly from Wikipedia --- "On July 10, 1991, Warrior sent a letter to McMahon requesting inclusions in his new WWF contract. He wanted $550,000 for performing at WrestleMania VII, a guaranteed number of working days, travel accommodations and a higher percentage of merchandise sales. He remarked that $550,000 "was fair", and that "[Warrior] meant as much or more to the show than Hulk [Hogan]". He ended his letter with "Whatever your decision, I can and will live with it. Till then I remain home with one who cares".

The WWF responded on July 13, agreeing to $550,000 for WrestleMania VII, a higher royalty rate and promising no other WWF performer would be paid more than him on WWF pay per views. McMahon personally ended the letter by saying, "I would like to express my deepest appreciation and admiration for you as a performer, as a member of the WWF family, as a man, and as my friend".

Following WWF's annual SummerSlam event, Warrior was handed a letter dated August 26, 1991, from McMahon, saying Warrior was suspended effective immediately. Among other things, McMahon said, "You threatened to stay at home thereby not even appearing at Titan's major summer pay-per-view event SummerSlam. I had no choice but to accede to your exorbitant demands. This was a serious mistake on your part". McMahon later testified that the only reason the company agreed to the contract was to "acquiesce to his demands temporarily" to ensure Warrior would perform at the SummerSlam event.

Upon receiving the letter, Warrior refused the suspension and left the WWF. Warrior formally sent a letter of resignation to the WWF in October 1991. The WWF refused to accept the letter since Warrior was under contract until September 1992."

Okay there's your answer...

So they wrote him off as he was gone from the Federation and then this happen after Macho Man & Miss Elizabeth's Match Made in Heaven took place...Jake the Snake & The Undertaker crashed the party and look who comes to the rescue

This will continue tomorrow :blbat:

I see. I knew that story about UW I just didn't know if this storyline was connected to it until now. That Macho Man-Jake feud is a pretty memorable one. They even did a whole A&E Greatest Feuds episode on it last year.

Here's the late great Sid's response :blmm:

It's like dueling Jake promos. Weird not hearing Sid yell like most guys do. Jake couldn't because of his vocal cords so that was a nice change by Sid.

Yes, it was different and you be right about that. More in a second. Oh I recall that Lars Sullivan promo. I was like wow when I saw small vignettes of him being hyped as they were still hyping up wrestlers from NXT because it seemed like most people didn't watch NXT and know who these guys were despite that brand IMO has always been handled better and just more overall exciting. His run in NXT was pretty good. When he's here on the main roster it was so bittersweet. Just when he was getting started then the "incidents" happen of being injured & accused and all that jazz  Unfortunately the talent in NXT can't stay there forever where their better off as Lars was such a good on eon screen

Okay, now let's continue with Jake "The Snake" Roberts & Sid Justice. What your about to see is one of My fave moments in wrestling. During this news bit with Lord Alfred Hayes (gosh I miss stuff like this, it was so much better then), Jake is with The Undertaker & Paul Bearer since they formed a dark alliance when feuding with the Ultimate Warrior as seen earlier. Jake says in this spooky promo that they have something for Sid Justice and man they weren't kidding

So, here's Sid Justice in this match against El Diablo, one of many newcomers in the WWF of 1991. His name translates "The Devil" :!: Watch how Sid leaps/jumps on the apron way long before Lashley & Lesnar ever did. "Dangerous" Danny Davis is the ref and Vinnie Mac, Macho Man & Roddy Piper is on commentary. Macho is retired and has yet to be reinstated by President Jack Tunney. Oh man this was one memorable October Saturday morning on Superstars. In fact this aired on 10/19/91...that was 33 years ago YESTERDAY :o :batshock: :wwshock: :smgasp:

Spoiler:
As you seen, El Diablo wasn't a newcomer, it was actually Jake" The Snake" Roberts. As you saw, Sid was slightly shorter than The Undertaker who were both former Sky Scrapers in WCW. That's the same snake named Lucifer that bit The Ultimate Warrior, he was 15 feet long! Tomorrow I will post a bit of Jake & Macho Man :blbat:

Oh yes, I showed it before in My Yo, Do You Remember Topic. Like I said, that's one of My fave moments in wrestling ;) Oh La Parka, he was one of My Grandma's faves. She just loved him how he'd play the chair guitar and I always said to her that he was wrestling's Skeletor :blbat:

Okay, now here is a BIG FINALE to Jake "The Snake" Robert's time as this great heel in the WWF. I got several videos here so I can move on to Jake in WCW tomorrow. So, here's the iconic moment with Jake attacking Macho Man with Lucifer, the 15 foot killer King Cobra that bit the Ultimate Warrior in the face :!:

Now, just days after the WWF Survivor Series 91, the WWF held a special PPV called This Tuesday in Texas, it was the first & only event of it's kind and it was a super fun one. Macho would try to get his revenge of The Snake :!:

So, what was going on with the Undertaker :?: He just lost the WWF Championship to Hulk Hogan at This Tuesday in Texas. He also prevented Jake from smashing Savage & Liz with a chair too  Jake is at the Funeral Parlor and this is THE moment that made The Undertaker the huge babyface for years to come :blbat: So if you ever wondered how that came to be, this is it :!:

First as a big personal trivia note of Mine, check this. The great House Show that I went to in December of 91, the main event was originally going to be Jake & Macho but since their feud was now basically over since The Undertaker & Jake are now feuding, the main event was Hulk Hogan vs. Ric Flair  I was disappointed about that when it happen but over time I'm like, gosh, it may be been serendipitous because I got to see Hogan & Flair :) So now their getting ready to face each other at Wrestlemania 8 in 1992...here's the promos by The Phenom & The Snake :blbat: :blsm:

So at WM8, this was Jake's last match in the WWF for a long while until he'd return in 96

Now, Jake was on his way to WCW later on in the year and just in time for the spooky time of October 92, watch for this tomorrow as well as his great WCW theme too :blbat:

Well I know Jake is back in the WWF by 1996 because of SCSA and that Boy Meets World episode. I would think looking back Hogan vs Flair would be something amazing to have seen.

Okay, now we fast forward months later after what I hope you seen with Jake, The Macho Man & The Undertaker, There's so much fun & important stuff they leave out in those shows on TV, many times I'm disappointed because I'm like what, you didn't show this or mention that and WWE always leaves out stuff from the past :? Sure, I know about the good ol' time restraints but that causes so much more that could be seen known  So now Jake "The Snake" Roberts debuts in WCW in August 1992, 32 years ago this year  Here's some of his very memorable moment in 1992 and he goes after STING in his debut :!:

Here's this great promo as he is being interviewed by Jesse "The Body" Ventura :blbat:

Here's the tremendously spooky vignette promo of Jake during the great Halloween Havoc 92 with Madusa :!:

And here's this of the VERY FIRST Spin the Wheel, Make the Deal with Jake "The Snake" Roberts & Cactus Jack interviewing him  This great features still continues today in NXT :blbat:

So that will do it for Jake "The Snake" Roberts time in WCW. I'm done with him for now and next going to post when what happen with Sid Justice in 92 which this is when he first turned "sycho" :blaq:
