I guess, the difference with those incidents was that . . . they tried to keep me from seeing it coming? Where as Iron Man 3 led me down a road I thought I knew the way to, and then tricked me. It would be sort of like if Nolan made a movie about Riddler and then you find out that the whole character has been made up by Clayface or something. Iron Man 3 led me to believe that the Mandarin would be used and it was a complete red herring. What Nolan did was ok because I could still piece together where he used the comics and altered it, but still kept the spirit of things (to me anyway).
Well aside from me thinking "Robin's" appearance was cheesy, I didn't think everything else was lame. I was just saying that it seems to be the thing to do now to change it up in comic book movies to throw fans a curve ball these days. I guess depending on how they do it, the greater fanbase either accepts or condemns it. I thought the whole Mandarin thing was cheese, though, but I didn't really love the film itself either.
