Character Advice

Postby Muthasucka » Wed Dec 18, 2013 2:10 pm

So I got an ML Ghost Rider to make an Atomic Skull custom with the head, and the figure itself is pretty cool, I just don't know what to do with it. Any advice? Is there an occult character that anyone knows about who might look good in this outfit? If I hadn't already done a Blue Devil custom, I'd consider that. He just seems like he'd look good on the Occult/JLD shelf.

Here's the figure, in case no one knows what I'm talking about:

It might lend itself to an interpretation of Lord Satanus. The character has had multiple looks, and this Ghost Rider's outer tunic/armor is suitably demonic. If you are not exclusively DC in your customs, this figure would also translate well to Dormammu.
"The bestial screams, a life devoted - to the occult.
The flickering lights, my dream came true.
And now I'm dead.
Find me, take me. To the void, to the crooked nest, to Nekrohaven."
Satyricon, "Nekrohaven"

Good suggestions. Yeah, I only really do DC customs, but I do have some Marvel figs, one of which is Flash Venom. So I'm covered there.

I got GH for making Atomic Skull (I repainted his skull and flames) too...I took an extra DCUC OL Lex, sculpted new shoulders, hood/neck area and mid-section to make it look less like the existing fig and steer towards his look in the Superman/Manchester Black animated movie (name escapes me for the moment).

If you use the OL Lex, make sure to apply a bunch of layers cuz that clear plastic doesn't like paint...turned out pretty good as far as my skill level goes.
I am one of the 63%....

Close! I actually got a Batman Legacy Mr. Freeze. The problem I have now is trying to figure out what to do about his neck. I didn't realize the Freeze figure's head and neck are one piece that moves with his abdomen. I may have to chop the head off and refashion the neck to take a peg. It's either that or chop the neck off another figure.

I'd love to see your Atomic Skull! I actually used the OL Lex for a Mirror Master custom and I got it to take the paint pretty well, but I also sealed it with a gloss varnish. I'll post pics when I can find them.

Maybe Dreamslayer from the Extremists. Justice League villains from the early nineties.

But then wouldn't I have to make the rest of the Extremists?? That might be fun. I really liked that miniseries they had a few years ago. Thanks for the idea!

I've seen some cool Dormammu customs made from this GR this one for an example.
