RIP The Patriot Del Wilkes June 30, 2021

Man, I know I was a big fan of this guy during the 90s. I loved his run in WCW teaming with Marcus Bagwell and his brief but enjoyable run in the WWF which was unfortunately cut short after a career ending injury. Even though he was in a feud with the Hart Foundation (who were faces in Canada where I'm from), I couldn't bring myself to boo the guy.

Later, I was able to see his early 90s All Japan matches through tapes and clips in solo action and teaming with the Eagle AKA George Hines AKA Jackie Fulton. This guy was always explosive and always exciting. Heard a great interview with him on YouTube a few years ago. Seems like a really nice guy.

I just found out that "The Patriot" Del Wilkes has died He passed away on June 30th. He was so underrated but he had some really good memorable moments. My Gosh, this is so sad, another great one has left the wrestling world

Always loved masked wrestlers. He had a great look. Shame he never got a longer WWE run during that US vs Canada run.

Yeah, he had a really exciting look for sure. Just a real shame his injury ended his career early. He was getting a nice push in WWF at the time when it happened, too. I remembered that USA vs Canada angle well.
