Good to know it's not just me. I've used a wrench so many times on a few jars that there were actual holes in the lid, lol. I had one custom mix in a Testors jar that I used for lips and face shading (it actually began life as a Sinestro-skintone mix) and the metal lid was stripped so much I had to buy these little glass jars from the Dollar Tree and transfer over as much as I could to save. The jars are actually pretty nice, I plan to use them next time I try to mix colors. They're usually in craft section of the DT. You can get cheap palettes there as well.

Apparently Hobby Lobby is ending their 40% off one item on Feb 28th, which really sucks. Going to need to use up my gift cards and buy a bunch of paints before then. 40% really made a $25 gift card last.

That reminds me of when Citadel used to use screw on lids that would seize up.

I like the Citadel pots, I just shake them up and dip the brush into the paint that's under the lid. Not sure if that's the intent for them, but it's what I do. But I've had a few occasions where my daughter uses one to paint and doesn't close the lid right and it pops back open. I just had to toss out my Abbadon Black because of that. Ugh.

I used Vallejo but they're kinda watery.

The old Citadel pots didn't have a lid that popped off. It was a screw on type and they would get stuck and I'd have to use a pipe wrench to remove them.

Yeah, that's how the model masters ones are. I won't miss them. Really growing to like the dropper bottles. Easy to control how much paint you aerate, and easier to mix colors.

Not sure if it's still the case but Privateer Press had these paints called P3 paints and they were the exact same quality as the Citadel Paints, sometimes even better, and they were much much cheaper. Like I said, not sure if it's still the case but worth looking into when you restock.

Hmm, not a brand I'm familiar with but they seem reasonable on their site. Don't think I've ever seen them locally.

The P3s hold up to gentle wear pretty well when cured. I've dropped and dragged a figure across a desk and it's held up pretty decent so far. If they're cheaper than Citadel, I'd give them a crack. If somehow Citadel is cheaper, then I'd give them a pass as they're pretty close.

Price wise they're about the same, but I can get Citadel locally so that's probably the choice. But I'll keep an eye on colors because Citadel doesn't have everything, and good luck ever finding black or white in stock at the game store.
