Wingnut's customs

Postby wingnut1969 » Fri Jan 01, 2021 12:17 am

Ok. So after some minor cajoling I decided to start my own customs thread. I'll try to breakdown the figures and how I arrived at the finished figure which I can for a good number of them but some are lost to me.

So here we go:
9397

Talia al Ghul

She's just a GC5 Catwoman body with Superwoman boots and a Zatanna head and gave her GA Starman's gun and holster.

9398

Nocturna

She's just Raven straight up with a Zatanna head

9399

Firefly

He's Killer Moth with Nightwing forearms and shins and added the flamethrower from the Watchmen Comedian figure. I did have to lose the bottom wings on KM so the thrower would fit.

Hush

He's a DKR SOB figure at his base. I really liked the scalloped gloves I figured it played into his deep rooted desire to be Bruce/Batman. His head is Negative Man and the coat from a Constantine. I added the holsters from a YJ Red Arrow/Arsenal and gave him a Deathstroke rifle. And though you probably can't tell I painted the boots a gloss black vs the flat black because I thought they would shine being polished leather.

Dr. Poison

She's just a jam up of Catwoman figures. Again the GC5 Catwoman with the skirt of a GA/SA Catwoman. I liked the idea of the shirt vs the long "lab coat". The gloves almost seemed like surgical gloves to me only black cuz she's evil. And then the goggles probably need no explaining.

Silver Swan

She's a Hawkgirl with GA/SA Catwoman boots with a Star SApphire Wonder Woman head and Silk Spectre forearms. I went back and forth on which head to use and settled on WW because it was available and the original SS had a "tiara" or whatever it's called at her hairline and down the side of her face so I got to use a head I wasn't sure I'd ever use. YAY!

9403

Circe

Again with the GA/SA Catwoman - a recurring theme, like Zatanna heads - only with Poison Ivy head and feet. I liked Ivy for this because her hair had the foliage in it and she was barefoot and in the back of my mind I had the George Perez WW issue with her and Diana in chains at her feet. I gave her the sickle from the atrocious DCD Circe and did my best to mold her necklace and bracelet/anklet.

Krona

He's just straight up OMAC with a SInestro head and El Dorado cape and I molded his armor as best as I could, wish I'd smoothed it out more. I liked the gold over the starfield look of his uniform. Again I kinda kept George Perez's look for him in JLA/Avengers in mind.

9405

Star Sapphire

This is a mash up of two Star Sapphire figures - Carol and WW and I molded her belt as best I could.

John Stewart

This is just a Stewart head on a basic Hal GL body. The pose is based on his very first cover appearance on GL/GA 87.
