DC Multiverse

Mattel got its feet wet in the 3.75" market with Infinite Heroes initially with figures inspired by the Crisis on Infinite Earths cross-over, later adding figures from Public Enemies, modern Teen Titans and more. Fast forward to 2013, they're going to try their hand at 3.75" again. This time promising a much higher quality product in the DC Multiverse Toyline!

So is anyone going to give this line a shot? They look okay, but I'm kind of worried. I'm not that big a fan of videogame figures and I'm apprehensive about buying into it if they did comic styled figures just in that they may try to be too diverse and I'll only really get figures I want every second or third wave. I'd definitely feel a bit short changed if I only got say, four of the big seven and the line died. Still, they look kind of neat. :smwink:

Yeesh, this is what the 3" GL, TDKR, and MOS toys should have looked like. I dig the Arkham style and I have a mostly complete set of the DCC versions, so I might get into 'em. It depends on how they look in person and, naturally, the price. If they're in the same range as MU, sure. But $9 and over? Pass.

Mister Freeze does look pretty awesome, though. It's a shame they never got to a DCUC version of him. Who's the guy in the black coat who looks kind of like Marvel's Crossbones? That's not supposed to be Bane, is it? I know AO is gonna be a prequel, but yuck. That's a crummy design.

Kind of funny they're recycling those lightning accessories, though.

I just hope the female bodies don't suck this time around.

It's Mattel, so I'm not surprised they haven't premiered a female figure for this line yet. Still, kind of makes ya wonder how they're gonna turn out. I'd be willing to be money that they don't get it right on Try No. 1.

Also, that's the AO Bane? Yuck. It's like the New 52 guys snuck something into the designs or something.

I don't know how many in the whole line I will end up getting, but I will definitely pick up the Batman and Mr. Freeze from this wave. The others, I can pass.

I'll be picking up the video game wave, and any bat-related figures in Wave 2.

I'm really hoping for Beware the Batman figures either in Wave 3, or preferably in their own line. Really enjoying that cartoon so far.
