I didn't want many of the Multiverse figures but these darn $5 figures (and sometimes $9 figures) have made it pretty tough to not buy.
So a couple nights ago I found a whole endcap of Doomsday wave figures at a Walmart. They used to be $5 there but sadly they fixed the price back up to $19. So I checked brickseek.com for stores in my area that still had that wave marked down (less and less these days) and drove to one that still had them listed at $9 and was pleasantly surprised to find two Superman Doomed and a Supergirl. Good start, right? So I had some time to kill so I went to another Wally that had them listed for $9 that's about a half hour away that I don't really go to often, but figured anything for $9 would be nice. But I struck out.
But, according to brickseek there were still two stores in my area that had $5 figures. Problem is both are over an hour away and in the middle of nowhere. At least the one was, I just assumed the other was but I've never actually gone out there before. But today, I was already half way there and it was only another 40 minutes from the second Walmart I went to and I had the time so I figured hey, maybe I find a consolation Year Zero Batman or something else interesting or old. Never know. But when I got there I found a bunch of Doomsday wave figures and sure enough they scanned at $5 each! I was so excited, man, I couldn't get out of there fast enough. I even went through the self checkout so a nosey cashier wouldn't question the price, lol. Must've looked odd buying 10 figures and bananas (had to keep the little one happy!) So despite not caring about New52 Doomsday I now have the parts to build 3, lol. So in total, for $80 I got 13 figures!
3 Supergirls
2 DK Armored Bats
2 Carrie Kellys
3 Superman Doomed
1 Mutant leader
2 Lexxeses--Lexi? Lexus?
Not bad!
