Packerbacker Customs Enter Schlagg-man pg. 35

Postby packerbacker180 » Sun Jun 07, 2015 6:18 pm

Yeah, that's a real character. So years ago I bought a DC Direct Arkillo basically because I liked the head better with the tongue necklace as opposed to the Mattel Arkillo head. And then soon after this fella, Sinestro Corps. member Schlagg-man appeared in a panel in a GL storyline and I immediately thought he looked a lot like the Rulk (Red hulk). So I promptly ordered a Rulk head cast and threw it in the fodder box to get to eventually. Cut to years later when I decided I could lighten up the fodder drawers a little bit by removing this heavy, headless Arkillo body and just painting the darn head already. Sometimes a simple custom is a nice way to take a breather. Not to feel like I didn't do much, I also gave him a manicure (monsters are the most interesting people!) and repainted the yellow to better match the DCUC yellow (DC Direct has more of a metallic gold). So a couple days later and here's the Schlagg-man in all his schlagging glory. In blackest day, and brightest night yada yada yada...

Schlagging terrific! I enjoyed the Bugs Bunny reference in the description, nice way to slide it in.
Never really matters how straight forward the custom may be, it adds another character and after all he who dies with the most toys (quite literally in our case) WINS!! Perfect recipe, you nailed him spot on.

Packerbacker - Perfection Indeed, I just loved it very much!
The Helmet of Fate, Amulet of Anubis, and the Cloak of Destiny Awaits You!

Doctor Fate and Fate of the World ... are the same person ... the reason for two accounts is to add more photographs to this forum.

That is one highly detailed, sweet Manhunter figure. I can see why Andreyko liked this one.
Currently Reading: Aquaman, Aquaman & the Others, Earth 2, Justice League, Justice League Dark, Justice League United, Sensation Comics, Superman/Wonder Woman, & Wonder Woman(starting with the Finchs' run).
