I was still looking for Thor and ran into a local WalMart to find two on the pegs. Both were missing Odin's leg (disgusted sigh) looking at the other figures, I noticed every one from the Odin wave had been pillaged. There was an Iron Fist packaged with an Arnim Zola Leg. Walking away, I noticed an employee working the aisle. I told him about the figures and he walked over to look as though he was genuinely interested. (gotta admit, I was a little surprised). I left to check the clearance section and on the way back by I noticed that he had gone ahead and left all the figures on the peg.

"Hey, are you going to leave these here in the hopes some unlucky bastard buys them anyway?"

He turned and walked away like he hadn't heard me. (I am neither shy nor quiet)

Bad enough the store is the victim of theft/fraud. I would think they value their own reputation enough to correct the situation when it is pointed out and seemingly understood.

I work in WalMarts, Targets, Fred Meyers etc as a representative for another company. If you have ever felt sorry for them and what they have to "put up with" Don't. As customers, they are the most demanding, rude, and outrageous SUMSABEETCHEs you could ever imagine. I encourage everyone and their dog to be just as entitled and demanding of the store's.

When I worked toys at Walmart I pulled anything like that. The GI Joe five packs were the worst, but there'd be wrestlers with missing belts, figure swaps, etc. When ToyBiz had the clamshells for MLs you didn't see it as much, but every now and then some douche would carefully slice the side and take out the BAF piece. Once Hasbro went to those packages with just the tape on the sides it was pretty much open season. It never fails to surprise me what people will do for toys, the depths they'll sink to. It really is fraud and theft. I've still seen it every now and then with the new MLs but its been more figure swapouts than stolen BAF pieces. So far at least. Fortunately my area stores seem pretty good about pulling that stuff because I rarely see stuff twice. Or some poor SOB bought them.

I see it all too often in my area, it truly is sad what people/scalpers/thieves do to get those BaF/CnC parts. they are so easy to get with Marvel Legends because Hasbro don't even tape some of them now and it makes it so easy to swipe the BaF part.

Back in the mid-1980's when my nephews were big on GI-Joes and Certain Wrestling Stars - Like Hulk Hogan, Macho Man Randy Savage, Sting, Ric Flair, and others - I have seen packages rip open of people taking miniature wrestling belts, parts of feet, hands, and even heads out of the packages and taking it back home as replacement parts for their figures.

Heads (Hogan's Head was very Popular back then)
Superman's Cape
Batman and Robin's Cape
Wonder Woman's Lasso


I was shopping for them and I told my nephews this - they were teenagers at the time and I told them that I just don't have the time for shop for them for their Birthdays and Christmases because of the rampart destruction of packages at Toys R Us. So, they started ordering stuff through various catalogs back then and I just give my brother and his wife the monies they need to get them for Birthdays and Christmases.

Toys R Us had to do something about it and they made some corrective steps and I just wanted to let you all know that this is been an on-going issues even back in the 80's and it's came to no surprise that it's still going on today.

When Lynda Carter's TV Series came on - Her Wonder Woman Action Figure was the most popular item to shoplift and I wanted to get one myself and I couldn't because her figure was removed from shelves and you have to order it through the store catalog back then.

After reading this thread a couple of times - I just wanted to let you all know it's still going on even back in the 80's.

Pretty Sad and I'm still angry about it ...
