Yes, but Marvel's been a trusted brand at the movies for six years. The current DC movieverse has nothing to fall back on right now besides one Superman film that got mixed reviews. Hence, they went with well-known characters and a couple big stars. Guardians was a big gamble for Marvel. Even with Harley and Joker this movie is a huge gamble for WB.
Other than Will Smith, the cast looks pretty decent to me. He's not a bad actor at all but he's way too familiar to me in other roles for me to accept him in the role of Deadshot.

Every point you make is correct. Going back to what makes the Marvel movies work...They stayed very true to the comics they resourced. They did not make Iron Man, Cap, or Thor anything but who they are. Industrialist, soldier, Norse god. Write a kick-ass, good movie. Do not let characters like Harley Quinn (who needs a character like the Joker to explain her existence) overshadow the story. The Dark Knight was a well written movie by any standard. They used the characters well and kept the action balanced with great psychological thrillers. If you wanna make a Suicide Squad movie, then I hope Warner makes it well. The inclusion of HQ just rubs me the wrong way. They hope the name recognition will help, but I fear it will just confuse the audience.
I saw the trailer to Focus and I swear I thought for a moment that they were already showing a trailer for this movie.

What they did with that picture - it's kind of small and all; but it's not as nearly good as Nicholson and Ledger Joker and I felt that - even I was shocked to see it ... they did not do a good job with the makeup and all.
To me, it's a F Grade as far as the Joker Concerned ... I just don't care for it.
