I just found out that 2 former WWF referees has died :o It was Dave Hebner & Time White  I don't know how much you pay attention to refs but I always did and still do. Once in a while they can become a big part of match! Hebner was one of the Hebner twin refs that screwed Hulk Hogan with Andre the Giant & Ted Dibiase at the Main Event in 1988 which was and still is IMO one of the greatest moments ever seen in wrestling history. He sometimes reffed but was mostly a backstage official and his brother Earl would do the ref job most of the time. White was also a long time ref in the 80s to the 90s. He is best known as being Andre the Giant's assistant, handler and really best friend. Coincidentally Andre was involved with both of them...was there a connection here :? Nah..may they both rest in peace.

Here is their fandom pages.

I read about Dave last night during Slammiversary because Earl was involved in the big Honor No More vs TNA Originals match (it was a pretty good PPV). Later last night my wife saw about Tim on Facebook. Weird they both went down for the final count on the same weekend. I didn't pay much attention to who the refs was when I was a kid besides Danny Davis, but by the Attitude Era the refs were more noticeable part of the match and these guys were the cream of the crop.

Time White called in to Busted Open quite often and told some amazing stories, especially involving Andre the Giant.

May they rest in peace.

Wow, what a shock. I got Tim's death on my news feed but Dave is news to me. RIP, they were essential to the storytelling that happened in the ring.

PB - Haven't kept up with'em but yes I knew Earl was in TNA a long while back, I watched him there in the older days for a long time along with his son Brian. Danny Davis is also another great one, so is Charles Robinson aka "Lil Naitch". Somethin' your wife found the news. Indeed it was weird :? :batconfused: :wwhuh: :smhuh:

NOTE: Dave is the one that screwed Hogan in 88, nearly a decade later his brother Earl would "screw" Bret in Survivor Series 97 in the Montreal Screwjob...now isn't that a bit odd :? White did have his moments in the Attitude Era as well.

Acid - Indeed it is shocking and your right, they sure where
