Well that's great the main event stuff had your interest PB. Yes, it will be interesting where Solo goes from here. I know you missed a lot of NXT and didn't know Solo. He started there and was pretty good and he was a babyface and only the crowd revealed that he was part of the Samoan Dynasty...this main roster run with him part of being the enforcer heel for the Bloodline is different than his NXT stint. Now I did not expect Tama Tonga to appear...I guess they thought it wasn't necessary for him to start in NXT. Tama isn't related to them however his father Haku has had major history on the native islands and that's why Haku was at the Hall of Fame with the Samoan family and I would imagine that's why Tama is here now...the question is Tanga Loa & Hikuleo far behind :?:

I knew a little about Solo. I'd also heard rumors that Tama Tonga was coming to the WWE, as well as one other Samoan whom I wouldn't be surprised to show up either with the Bloodline, or maybe with the Usos as an opposing faction. I liked the Guerillas of Destiny in NJPW, Tama Tonga is actually pretty old at 42 (I know that's not really old( but he looked much younger on Friday, lol. That's why I looked up his age. He's actually not Haku's biological son as he was adopted. But I wouldn't want to cross anyone that was raised by King Haku, lol.

Okay, that is good. Oh yes, the Guerrillas of Destiny were great in Japan. Yes, like I said, back when Bob Backlund returned he was 43 and that was considered to be old then, Terry Funk said himself is an old man when he won the ECW world title at 45. If your Tony Khan apparently his doesn't think old which is good because he thinks Jeff Jarrett is in his prime at 55  Honestly I forgot that Tama Tonga is adopted by Haku...good thing that you know your history PB ;)

Re: Official Wrestling PPV-PLE Topics: BackLash!!!

Postby BrandonDaCollector » Sat May 04, 2024 5:15 am

So today is WWE BackLash in Lyon, France but before I get to it here's a couple cool ads.

Image

Here's an updated look at Raw, SmackDown & NXT though Roman is still there and Bayley should be where Bianca is.

Image
Image
Image

WWE BackLash France has been hyped up for many months as it's part of a huge WWE International World Tour. This time last year it was in Puerto Rico which that was an excellent PLE, easily one of the funnest ones of the entire year and quite frankly one the best in a long time. There's a lot that's happen and going to happen during this WWE week :)

Image
Image
Image

The cool WWE BackLash Poster featuring WWE Undisputed Universal Champion Cody Rhodes :)

Image

THE CARD :!: While this is going to be exciting & fun. it seems lackluster as there could be more matches I mean where's Sami Zayn's Intercontinental title defense especially since this is a foreign country where it would really be apropos to defend it at not to mention he speaks french :? Mis-opportunity booking if you ask Me :batsmh: :wwsmh: :smsmh:

"The American Nightmare" Cody Rhodes (c) vs. AJ Styles for the WWE Championship & WWE Universal Championship: So in Cody's first title defense against none other than AJ Styles, this s going to be an epic match but I see no way that Cody loses in his first big match as his dream will continue :!:

Image

Damian Priest (c) vs. "Main Event" Jey "Yeet" Uso for the World Heavyweight Championship: This is going to be a great one. Will Jey finally get a singles title :?: Maybe but not tonight :o

Image

Bayley (c) vs. Tiffany Stratton vs. Naomi in a Triple Threat Match for the WWE Women's Championship: This is going to be excellent and a hot match. Bayley has been looking hot especially with her Ancient Egyptian inspirations. If you don't know, there is an Egyptian Park near at the San Diego Natural History Museum where she is from and I like it when even celebs like history. Hopefully people will find interest in it but unfortunately I doubt it  Naomi is here and she's going to make the bout really fun however, Stratton is really on a role with her incredible talents and while I don't think she'll win, I think she's going to be extremely impressive way possibly more than she was at the Elimination Chamber :wwwink: Really I want Bayley to win and to be champ for a long time :)

Image

The Kabuki Warriors (Asuka & Kairi Sane) (c) vs. Bianca Belair & Jade Cargill for the WWE Women's Tag Team Championship: Now this is really going to be good. Jade & Bianca has been really good together and looking hot...I expect them to beat The Kabuki Warriors and win the titles...possibly even nearly in squash fashion :o

Image

The Bloodline (Solo Sikoa & Tama Tonga) vs. Kevin Owens & Randy Orton: This will be something, Tama's debut will be at a PLE, I think The Bloodline has a major chance at winning however R-KO has really been great working as a team so really each has a 50-50 chance of winning here :!:

Image

Okay, here is a special bonus before I get to WWE SmackDown in France :)

I posted the full draft in the WWE/NXT Topic but I wanted to make sure this get's seen as the Dudley Boyz made a special appearance

Here's some clips of BackLash SmackDown. It's a cool crowd in France, it reminds Me of the cool crowd when they used to have NXT UK especially with the NXT UK Takeover shows :)

New Catch Republic vs. Authors of Pain :!:

LA Knight vs. Angel Garza with hype of the upcoming King of the Ring :!:

Is Carlito a heel, tweener or misunderstood :?:

Randy Orton asks Paul Heyman who's the TRUE Tribal Chief is then a brawl ensues with Solo Sikoa :!:

Carmelo Hayes is on the main roster. He had a such a great tenure in NXT being a former NA & NXT Champion. Even though he had a great establishment there with current NXT champ Trick Williams, he's gotta do his stuff all over again. Here he's lucky that "The Almighty" Bobby Lashely didn't give him a lesson that "wasn't for free" :o

Here's the entrances of Bayley, Naomi, Bianca Belair & Jade Cargill vs. Damage Ctrl & Tiffany Stratton :!:

Here's the WWE BackLash Kickoff Show :!:

Highlights!

This will be fun and I'm grateful that I can watch it :)

Re: Official Wrestling PPV-PLE Topics: BackLash RESULTS!!!

Postby BrandonDaCollector » Mon May 06, 2024 9:37 am

I found WWE BackLash France to be a very fun event. I was surprised that the R-KO match turned into a street fight by Nick Aldis. It was so apropos that Tanga Loa would show up here and caused the new Bloodline to win :!: The match with Priest & Uso was really good. To think last year at BackLash was fighting bad Bunny, now he's the World champ  I'm glad that Damian won and wanted to win on his own. Bayley looked hot as did Naomi & Statton. As I predicted, Stratton was even more impressive this time :!: The match with Jade & Bianca was terrific. That was such a unreal move of power that Jade did to Kairi how she caught her :batshock: :wwshock: :smgasp: I'm so glad that the two hot black muscle babes won :) The match with Cody & Styles was a great one...I never doubted that Cody would lose here :)

I loved that French crowd, they were so into he whole event...hardly anybody was looking into their phones and thinking this was boring...us spoiled Americans could really learn something from them :!: They're similar like the NXT UK crowd but not even they were as intense as this French crowd :o Here's the totally insane Jey Uso entrance with all of that YEETING GOING ON :o

Here's a compilation of the great French crowd during WWE BackLash Weekend...Cody Rhodes entrance was excellent as the crowd sang his song :o

Here's the Press Conference...with Bianca & Jade....

with Cody...

and with Triple H.

The whole thing including the end when it was revealed about Drew Gulak :o

So throughout the day they kept on saying watch the Kentucky Derby for a special announcement for next year's Wrestlemania. I'm like boy, they must be desperate for people to watch that I mean I was never interested in it. Gosh I miss the days when you'd watch old wrestling in the 80s & 90s in the Control Centers I mean everything was there for you know and you didn't have to rely on going on the web and so forth  Anyway, here's the announcement

So that was that and I'm so thankful that I experainced this :) I can't wait for the King & Queen of the Ring is Saudi Arabia in less than 3 weeks time now because I have always loved The King of the Ring :)

Re: Official Wrestling PPV-PLE Topics: K&QOTR Today!!!

Postby BrandonDaCollector » Sat May 25, 2024 11:40 am

So today is the...

Image

and it will be live in Jeddah, Saudi Arabia :!:

Image

I can't wait for it. They just announced that WWE SummerSlam will be in Minneapolis in 2026 already  Alpha Academy is now part of the Cricket Advertising as well :!:

Image
Image
Image
Image

Here's a look at the updated ads of Raw & SmackDown while NXT is still the same.

Image
ImageImage

WWE King and Queen of the Ring is brought to you by C4.

Image

Now the other day in the Word Game Topic stuff came to mind as I posted a bit of the KAQOFTR there plus just a while ago I posted something really fun & great in the Wrestling Promo & Themes Topics that has to do with some great history and some of My fave Kings. Now I'm about to share more history, a lot that WWE won't talk about or at least talk very, very little about. First of all I love the King of the Ring Tournaments and what they used to mean. The very crucial year of 1993 was the year of the premier event that started the BIG 5 events every year :o They would have qualifying matches on WWF Monday Night Raw, WWF Superstars & WWF Wrestling Challenge to determine who was going to go to the brackets. Now there is no such thing but more on that in a moment.

Here's a great poster of the 1993 King of the Ring Event that featured Hulk Hogan and the brackets.

Image

Here's a special picture that I made of a KOTR Report with Mean Gene Okerlund showing many of the bouts that is scheduled to happen at the event.

Image

Here's this special picture that I made of when Bret Hart won the first ever KOTR and then Jerry Lawler attacked him that started the great two year feud between the two legends :!:

Image

The greatest KOTR winner was "The Rocket King of of Harts" Owen Hart whom IMO is The Real Best There Is, Best There Was and Best There Will Ever Be :!: He won the second ever KOTR in 1994, 30 years ago this year :!:

Image

My fave KOTR event however was in 1995 when Mabel won and became King Mable, so awesome :!:

Image

Now that was in the 90s and so many people don't look back at how fun those times were. There was KOTR events even in the 2000s but after 2002 they were slowly moving aways from it and just having the matches on Raw making the event just seem like a regular big scale TV show. Kids & and young people of this Generation has no clue how a "real" KOTR was unless they watched & read about the old events. The last crowned King was King Xavier Woods which was cool but they made such a fool out him being destroyed by The Bloodline

Image

Now one major factor in this is that throughout all of this history, there's never been an actual Queen of the Ring event. The women get held back so much at stuff like that even in WWE. I always wanted one I mean we got the great Mae Young Events & Evolution that has been abandoned for a long time now so why not a Queen of the Ring PPV/PLE :? Here's a gorgeous fan made poser of what could have been which I really liked this era of the WWE' Women's Roster especially with Sasha & Asuka there :)

Image

Here's another fan made poster, this would have been pretty darn radical as well :wwwink:

Image

So what we got like the men's KOTR, a while ago they had a women's Queen of the Ring. It was good but not as good as it should have been. The winner was Zelina Vega who became Queen Zelina. She was quite good at it as she even put on a British accent :wwwink:

Image

Okay, now here we go with today's event. Here's the really great looking Poster

Image

THE CARD :!:

Pre-Show: Bianca Belair & Jade Cargill (c) vs. Candice LeRae & Indi Hartwell for the WWE Women's Tag Team Championship: I can't believe that this is on the Kickoff show :wwshock: What the heck  Well, this is going to be a great match. Even though the Family has gotten new heelish tactics, I don't think it's enough to stop the hot Tag Team Champs :batwink:

Image

Cody Rhodes (c) vs. Logan Paul for the WWE Championship & WWE Universal Championship: This is going to be an epic match...this was going to be Title for Title but it was changed and such a shame Paul isn't defending the US Championship regularly. I see Cody winning, no way he loses here.

Image

Becky Lynch (c) vs. Liv Morgan for the Women's World Championship: This is going to be fun. We saw the hint of them in the Battle Royal that Becky won the belt in...well I think there's a chance that Liv may pull thru here...a very slight chance that is.

Image

Sami Zayn (c) vs. Bronson Reed vs. Chad Gable in a Triple Threat Match for the WWE Intercontinental Championship: Amazing how Sami is "welcomed" now. This one is going to be a blast. I'd love it if WWE's resident Kaiju/Titan Reed would win here but I don't think that Zayn will lose here.

Image

Now, this is what the event is about and apparently this is what the Crowns will look like :batshock: :wwshock:

Image
Image

So this is an early shot the men's KOTR Bracket's. It looks mighty impressive since it has both sides of the usual Raw vs. SmackDown which this is so unlike the old days when there was qualifying matches...I've said many times that wrestling lacks in so much and this is a big example :batsmh: :wwsmh: :smsmh:

Image

When it was all said just last night it was just finalized that it would be Gunther vs. Randy Orton in the King of the Ring Tournament Final Match. I believe that they really dropped the ball having Dragunov lose and not face Gunther here. If you seen their feud in NXT UK then you know why this was such a missed opportunity of epic proportions  I think Gunther will win but I would like see a King Viper plus it's a title he's never had before :!:

Image

Okay, like the men's, the women has the same story but I think they were actually more interesting match-ups. The two bouts there that was great was Shayna vs. Io Sky...

Image
Image

and Jade vs. Piper Niven. I've said time & time again that the men's wrestling lack in big & huge guys...well the women's division in ways is kinda like the old days when size is concerned. Jade is almost six feet tall & Piper is over 200 pounds. It was awesome how Carglll was against her :!:

Image

Like the men's match was finally known last night on SmackDown, the final women's was too as Lyra Valkyria vs. Nia Jax in the Queen of the Ring Tournament Final Match as Nia beat Jade via DQ when she busted her with a chair :o I'd hate to see Nia lose this but then Lyra is on fire and I'd really hate for her to lose too. I think 50/50 with this one

Image

Here's this KAQOTR promo Package Video :!:

Here's these 2 videos to catch you up :!:

Here's the Pre-Show/Kickoff/Countdown to the King and Queen of the Ring :!:

What is you predictions and thoughts :?: I'm very grateful that I can watch this :)

Having followed none of this I'd think Gunther and Nia make the most sense. I can't see any title changes though except maybe Becky.

Re: Official Wrestling PPV-PLE Topics: RESULT!!!

Postby BrandonDaCollector » Mon May 27, 2024 9:57 am

I thought the event was decent and very fun.

Here's the Highlights :!:

I loved the double team finishing maneuver that Jade & Bianca did to retain the belts! It's such a shame that their bodies were covered, they were posing their muscles but dang, you couldn't seen them..so ridicules :batsmh: :smsmh: You were right about Becky, thanks to Dirty Dom, Liv is now is champ and I'm sure Rhea is furious now  I really liked the triple threat match. I liked how Cole said Reed is like King Kong and Graves saying he's a Kaiju :) I knew Sami wouldn't lose. Lyra gave it all she had but a huge squash by Nia made her Queen and in controversial fashion Gunther became King :!: I'm glad they won but neither had an epic coronation like those in the 90s, They were very short and were kinda pathetic compared to the great ones back in the day. However, it is cool that they are facing the champions at SummerSlam, now that is old school as that's how they did it then :) Also it was nice that Graves mentioned that his father took him & his brother to the 94 King of the Ring in Baltimore when Owen Hart became The King of Harts...I didn't expect to hear that  The match with Cody & Logan was great. I liked the Brass Knuckles trick :) Even though Paul lost he had such an impressive match, I'm getting more impressed by him every-time I see his matches but dang, he's gotta defend the US title more. Here's the results :)

Here's Triple H's answer the Controversial ending with Orton & Gunther.

During the PLE they were showing this of the Fanatics Fest in NYC on August 16th - 18th at the Jarvis Center. Hulk Hogan, Cody Rhodes, Rhea Ripley, Derek Jeter, Tom Brady and others will be there :o :batshock: :wwshock: :smgasp:

Image
Image
Image

Image

The PROMO/ADVERTISEMENT/COMMERCIAL :!:

THE CARD which all of this is going to be good :!:

Damian Priest (c) vs. Drew McIntyre: Singles Match for the World Heavyweight Championship: Drew has to win this especially since this is his hometown :o

Image

Cody Rhodes (c) vs. AJ Styles "I Quit" Match for the WWE Undisputed Championship: Dang, AJ can't lose two in row, right :? I just don't see Cody losing anytime soon :!:

Image

Bayley (c) vs. Piper Niven Singles Match for the WWE Women's Championship: This is going to be awesome, hot Bayley against this monster in her home town but Bayley can't lose, not this soon anyway :!:

Image

Sami Zayn (c) vs. Chad Gable Singles Match for the WWE Intercontinental Championship: Oh this is going to be a great match no matter who wins, Gable has really been something as of late and the one to watch really. I hope he pulls it off here too and becomes a new champ :)

Image

Bianca Belair and Jade Cargill (c) vs. Shayna Baszler and Zoey Stark & The Unholy Alliance (Alba Fyre and Isla Dawn) Triple Threat Tag Team Match for the WWE Women's Tag Team Match: Oh man this is going to be fantastic...you got the home town heroines against some great ones but I still think the hot tag champs will still prevail :!:

Postby packerbacker180 » Sun Jun 16, 2024 6:55 pm

Didn't watch it. Did check out the results. I haven't really watched WWE since WM. I didn't even watch AEW Collision yesterday. Even AEW has been kind of bland of late. There's really not a lot to get me excited in wrestling. AEW has been building their Forbidden Door PPV again, but I don't really pay much attention to NJPW or Stardom, so most of the matches just feel like glorified house show matches. I saw Jeff Hardy return to TNA on Friday. That's mildly interesting if he can stay healthy and sober. I don't know if it's a summer time lull, but haven't been as invested in any wrestling lately. Not where I watch a whole program live.

It's kind of like Star Wars The Acolyte, which is terribly boring BTW. I've decided it's easier to spend a couple minutes reading reviews of what happened then actually investing hours watching the product.
