Re: My Video Game Collection: DRAKKHEN!!!

So now, I'm to going showcase a Video Game that I've always loved that's usually on My mind often because of a few reasons, however, I've really been thinking of it for a long while now. This is DRAKKHEN by Infogames & Kemco-Seika for the SNES :!:

Image

Infogames is a brand of Atari and Kemco-Seika is from Kotobuki Engineering & Manufacturing Co., Ltd. and still exist today which was founded in 1984, 41 years ago this year. This Video Game Drakkhen originally came out in 1989, 36 years ago this year so this is really still in the remnants it's 35th Anniversary  It was a PC Game at first for the Commodore Amiga. Here's this picture I made to briefly show that :)

Image

So, I never had a chance to get that system however, fast-forward to 1992 when I got My Super Nintendo Entertainment System from My Grandparents at K-B Toys in Crestwood Plaza in the Summer of 92, My Grandma MiMi rented Me a lot of games over at Schnucks on Iron Street, Holly Hills Blockbuster Video & Star Video (I've greatly showcased them in My other Topics) which was some of My good times of life (youngsters today have no clue how fun this time was back then), some games I liked and some I didn't but most of it was decent and I dearly miss these days. Well, one day We were at Star Video and I saw this awesome cover there of a menacing green Dragon that really got My attention because you know Me, I'm always looking for the visuals that a lot of people don't or tend to ignore, I've been like that since I was little. So, the title of it was Drakkhen and that alone was a must to check out :!:

Image

So, she rented it for Me and I was astonished. In fact, she rented it for Me many times. My absolutely fave thing about the game is the title screen with it's totally epic music, still one the best themes ever heard in a video game which I will provide that at the climax of this special showcase of Mine :o So, super excited, I asked her to see if she could make a deal with Star Video to buy it (she did this a lot with places for Me, it was a great thing about her :) Well, My Grandma worked her magic like she usually did and she was able to buy it for Me and ever since it's been one of My most cherished games of ever of all-time, I always holds these things close to Me :)

So this Medieval 3D-Role Playing Game/RPG was one of the first on the Console. You just saw the front Cover that completely got My attention on the shelf...here's the back Cover :)

Here's the 1991 Copyright which as I always say, check those Copyrights, Trademarks & Information on your collectibles regardless of what they are, it's very important for many reasons especially to identify who made them and when. I've expressed many times prior in many of My showcases about this as I've been doing this since I was a youngster and will continue to do so until My last days on this planet. Heed this advice because not even the "supposed experts" tell you to do this :)

Image

Now, here's inside of the SNES Protective Case that was custom yet a signature trait of Star Video, as you see it's basically complete with the Cartridge & Instruction Booklet which is a big plus. In My younger day, this was such a priority to Me and even to My later days as a veteran gamer, it still is :!:

Here's the front & back of the great looking SNES Cartridge as you see Star Video's Banner around it.

Here's the Instruction Booklet which is in alright condition. You can tell it's pretty worn because this was handled by countless & careless plebians back in the day before I was able to rent it. I would never, ever...and I mean EVER treat My Game Books much less anything I own like that, it just shows you even then how society did things without a care :batsmh: :wwsmh: :smsmh: I've expressed how I love Instruction Manuals, I find them such an additional fun counterpart of the Game and is even more arguably exciting than the games themselves.

Notice Star Video's $5.00 Charge if Book Is Not Returned & Scan Bar Code. They were such a great place, but they did mean business :batwink:

Here's the Book in its entirety :)

Now, here's a big bonus. Earlier I said about how Drakkhen has one of the absolute best scores & intros ever heard & seen in a video game. Well, I played this game countless times in the 90s and over the many years just to hear & see this I mean if you love Movie scores, Visuals & Dragons it's clearly a no-brainer too. Here's the short but excellent Introduction :o

I hope you were surprised about that. I'm going to have another dandy video game coming soon, until then I'll see you around
