Skeletor:The live action version of Skeletor played by Frank Langela, a great actor known for his deep voice, large stature and uncanny ability to play iconic villains was such a brilliant choice to play Skeletor! As fantastic as his "live action" version was it was almost completely different compared to the versions of Skeletor previously seen in other media. In most media he has blue skin and purple armor, usualy barefoot but did wear boots in certain media and of course a hooded skull face. In the Filmation series he was very similar to the comics except for the boots and as evil as he was he was very comical always calling his minions names and had a very ghostly type male voice and he was about the same size as He-Man in height and muscle. Langela's version was no comparison. He was a really big tall guy but his entire body was covered in a black cloak but he did have a skull face and even fangs but his eyes were visible. He did have his havoc staff and was able to conjure up life force rays to attack his enemies. His voice was actually suited for Skeletor, while it wasn't like anything before it gave not only this new version of Skeletor a great presence but also made one think differently about the Overlord of Destruction. There is no mention about why he is Skeletor or was Keldor or King Randor's half brother or anything to back up his building character. Frank's version may have been way off the scale in way but this is one that sure worked 1000%!

Duncan/Man-At-Arms & Teela: Jon Cypher's Duncan and Chelsea Field's Teela were really different compared to the Filmation and other versions. While Man-At-Arms was dressed similar but only in dark silver armor compared to the green and orange seen elsewhere his personality was surprisingly there in ways plus he had a mustache. Teela on the other hand was a brunette where in other media she was usual seen as red head or sometimes a blonde. Her outfit was similar like her father's but this went against all that had been previously seen with Teela. No matter what she would were revealing or somewhat revealing armor in the style of a snake or just golden garb. Her attitude was similar though, nice but could be a snobby punk at times. Both of the father & daughter duo used blasters neither used their famed club and snake staff. Like the Dolph's He-Man & Frank's Skeletor, these two were changed as well. Out of the two, Teela may have been the one that was most disliked by the fans because she was so different.

The Sorceress: The movie's version of The Sorceress was played by fame English actress Christina Pickles. The Sorceress was really changed. In other media her outfit was of a falcon that was a hint that she was Zoar. In the film her outfit was of a crystal form design and she really did nothing at all except for finally being Skeletor's prisoner having her energy drained till she turn to an old woman, almost in a mummy-like state. There is no hint whatsoever that she is Teela's mother. This character version undoubtedly and arguably has the most significant altered design of all!

Evil-Lyn: Played by the beautiful Meg Foster, though her outfit was way different that seen before she was as evil as ever. Foster's uncanny eyes made Evil-Lyn even more a spectacular version. Evil-Lyn has always been a bad beauty, arguably the prettiest of females in ALL MOTU media and Foster kept the character even more gorgeous! Though she didn't have her staff she did pose as someone else fooling them with ease and that is something that was cleverly put into the story of the movie. Of course she differed from the Filmation Evil-Lyn but in ways, this version of Evil-Lyn was really in fact an ideal one.

Beast Man: Played by Tony Carroll, this version of Beast Man was very far a part of the Beast Man seen in the animated series and the comics. Though he had intelligence he did not speak one word nor did he use his whip, his weapon of choice was a blaster. He was a big brute and to some he looked more like Grizzlor of the evil Horde.

Blade: Played by Anthony De Longis, a new henchman for Skeletor, only seen in the comics other than the movie was actually a really cool villain. An armored warrior and master swordsman. While many back during the days before the film came out wanted Tr-Klops or Trap Jaw, really Blade was new blood that was acceptable and De Longis's performance was quite memorable. His comic and vintage action figure versions looked nearly identical to the film version of Blade.

Saurod: Played by Pons Maar, another new character. Coincidentally, looks similar like the Jungle Hunter Predator, another reptilian alien being seen in the 1987 movie "Predator". He was another addition of new blood that was acceptable and maybe a snake man or even Fangman may been wanted by fans during those time, he was an exciting villain till his unfortunate death. Like Blade, his comic and figure versions looked nearly identical.

Karg: Played by Robert Towers, another new character that was quite acceptable, he was the Mercenaries' leader and was such a strange looking villain with long white hair and short horns and had a hook hand. He was a memorable character. In most cases, his concept and comic version paid close to the version of Karg seen in the film.

Gwildor: Played by Billy Barty was really the most obvious choice to play this new little character that some believe was a cheap way out replacemt for Orko. Despite being far different than the Trollan, Gwildor did hold his own!

The Cosmic Key: The one seen in the movie was extremely different than the one design for the comics and the actual accessory that was included with Gwildor. Ultimately the version in the movie is by far the superior looking Cosmic Key for it's many punching keys and its blade-like spinning coverings.
Image

Skeletor's Havoc Staff: Like many thinks that's unexplained, Skeletor's Havoc Staff just appears with him and has no explanation whatsoever. That said, it is very reminiscent of the version seen in the comics but greatly differs from the Filmation version.

The MOTU Logo: Look at the differences as well as the similarities of these great iconic logos!
