Yeah, I 'm glad they were back by the time my kids were born. We have one that was walking distance so when they were little they'd sit in a little red wagon and I'd pull them to 7-11 for Slurpees. Such good memories.

But for a while they became a regional store called Wilson Farms. They had their own brand of soda called Wil's and a floavored called Orange and Cream which which I still miss to this day. But then eventually all those stores turned into 7-11s.

Wow, that's a good story. I know the experience of the red wagon, My Grandpa PoPo pulled Me in one many times, in fact I still have it, it's in the garage :) I'm glad your kids got to know 7-11. Yes, the location I shown is walking distance, only minutes away. I saw the Wilson Farms in your Commercial Topics and really didn't know them at all until now. That Soda & Chips sounds really good together and I would miss it all too if I has they experience  Really cool trivia & history there Packer :)

Re: Star Wars: My Miscellaneous Collection - PIZZA HUT!!!

Postby BrandonDaCollector » Tue Apr 01, 2025 7:11 am

Next up is My special collection of SW EP 1: TPM from Pizza Hut, Taco Bell & KFC which is all Pepsi :!:

Image

This was a huge event back then in 99. I recall it like it was last week seeing the commercials, getting this great food, watching the St. Louis Cardinals and just having a great time :)

Now, I don't have everything that was offered though I do have more than what I'm going to showcase here as I haven't located everything yet in My storage. However, as you just saw in that epic commercial that was so incredible, I got one of those medallions and it was arguably the most imperative one because it shows the companies joining together. This has always been and always will be one of My most cherished and important SW items I own :)

Image

Now, I never went to a Kentucky Fried Chicken because We didn't have one in Our area. The closest one was in Shrewsbury that I showed in My Marvel Topic a while back.

Image

Now, I did however get some great goodies from Pizza Hut & Taco Bell. First up is one that most plebians thought nothing of and just threw away but I'm not like that nor will I ever be. I kept My Pizza Hut Pizza Box fot it's collectability :o

Image

I mean I can understand if it's all messed up with grease and the like but how could you ever throw this away is beyond Me

Image

It's Darth Maul for cryin' out loud for Pete's sake. This was huge then...look at that :!:

Image

Here's a closeup of the heating instructions plus their phone number.

Also on the box is the Book It Program. This is a great thing when I was in school. You read stories or make up your own, give'em to your teacher and they give you a star sticker on your special button. Once you get all the stars on your button, you get to go to Pizza Hut and get a free Personal Pan Pizza. Oh this was a wonderful time to be a youngster. I did this a lot in the late 80s - early 90s. It was such a good time to be a kid and yes, I still have My Buttons that one day I may showcase :)

Here's Pizza Hut's Guarantee and the 1999 Pizza Hut & LucasFilm Copyright :!:

Now, as I said before, it's very important to show your locations. It doesn't matter how you do it, it matters THAT YOU DO, DO IT so your past doesn't fall to Oblivion :!: My local Pizza Hut went under a while before this which I'll get to in a moment. Back in 98 or so, a new Pizza Hut on Loughborough opened up which is a walk-in one, no cool diner at all which would become the norm soon after to this very moment as I speak :batsmh: :wwsmh: :smsmh: So, this one is still there thank goodness. Here's a pic from Instant Street View from 2018. I spoke about this area before in My all-crucial Odds & Ends' Glory Days of Movie Rentals which is one of My most important showcases I've ever done. Star Video and Oola's Beauty School that My Mom went to was right next to them in the early to mid 90s. Here's the picture :)

Image

Now, here's these great cups that I got as well with poseable arms of Watto, Sebulba & Darth Maul & Tatooine.

Here's the KFC, Taco Bell, Pizza Hut & Pepsi Logos as well as the 1999 Copyright :!:

Now, here a bit more of My local area. Here's My local Taco Bell on Kingshighway which I've known this area since I was a youngster and I talked & showed this area many times. Kingshighway is such a cool place to be at :)

Image

Here's where the other KFC was. It was a bleak day when they went out of business way back in the early 90s. My Grandpa Popo went to this location and would bring home the good food :) This is Gravois as you see Bevo Mill. My school is to the left. Just up the street there toward the right was Verna's Mr. T's Video Rentals & the Comic Shop. There was also a Church's Chicken that went out that became Pizza Express that also went out. The big building you see there is Family Dollar which is still there. The little building is where KFC was. I have know idea what is there now but it still has remnants of what it used to be.

Here's another gander at Family Dollar.

So, a bit further up the street was wonderful Captain D's. Me & My Grandma went there a lot. It was so cool inside and the people there was nice. My Mom's friend Mary worked there who also worked at the great Walgreens next to Star Video. I showed this in My Marvel Collection Topic. I shared My big story about her kids in My Vintage Wrestling Topic as well which was a special time. It was a sad day when one time We went there, and they were letting their customers know that their going out of business  Like I said time & time again, always, ALWAYS talk about the great people & places in your life, you never ever want that to go away  So, because of that, I wanted to go there as much as much as possible so We did. I recall one of the last times was a warm, very cloudy night that Me & My Grandma MiMi was listening to Metallica's ReLoad in her red Hyundai Garfield Express. It was a very bittersweet day when I knew this was the last time I'd be at this super fun Captain D's but I'm very thankful that I experienced it as much as I did :)

Image

Just yards away was the great Pizza Hut I've talked about time & time before. It was so fun there. This the location that I got My free Personal Pan Pizzas for fulling My Book It. When I'd wait, My Grandma would gimme quarters and I'd play the awesome Arcade Video Game by Capcom called Final Fight that is part of the Street Fighter universe. It was always a fun time, I sure recall 1990 when they had the special of the TMNT: Coming out of their Shells and there will never ever be a time like that again. I also recall one of the pizza dudes. He was really nice to Us and he drove a pristine blue 57 Chevy  After they closed that wonderful location a few years later, some foreign restaurant took its place that We never ate it (same thing happen with Captain D's). Here's a recent picture, you can clearly tell that was once a Pizza Hut as well as Captain D's a tiny bit down the way :)

Image

That's all for this one, more SW Episode 1: The Phantom Menace is coming soon, until then I'll see you around
