I always thought of the yellow in the puple and yellow Kirby Sandman as a mustard yellow. I like what you did with the gold, it gives him a Golden Age feel, no pun intended. I thought the Sanford Sandman was great also. I have always loved the quirky oddness that Jack brought to the DCU, even though most recognition is given to the 4th world. Demon, Kamandi, and Sandman were fun and goofy, (goofy really does not describe the Demon, he was just coooooool).

Just a stellar job, Doc. I really love the paint job and sculpting work that went into these pieces and what great choices, too, Sandman variations. Another home run.

Thanks, fellas.

You gotta build models. Too much fun.

I agree that, esp with SMT, Wes wore a mustard and purple. That still didn't jibe with the descriptions of gold.

Today, more Kirby and more gold:

Really great work on those Guardians. The gold really makes them pop, and great work on the golden age Guardian's belt buckle and helmet. I really wish that they would have made the modern Guardian like your 3rd custom instead of the silver age one. I never understood why they kept choosing Silver age costumes for DCUC figures.

Thanks guys!

We speculate that the SA Guardian was the most "4th World Kirby Accurate" to go with all the NEW GODS stuff, but I'm not sure what the point of that was.

I woulda preferred Mal Duncan as Guardian, but that's just me...

Both of the Guardians looked great. Funny, but the storyline you mention is the first time I had heard of Mal Duncan. I was never a steady Titans reader, I must have picked up that story at random. I cannot wait to see what you bring next :bafspaz: :bafspaz: :bafspaz:

Mal is a neat character. It was cool that YJ turned him into Guardian in the show as well. I liked his run as Vox, too.

As a boy from the 70's, the TEEN TITANS was on my spinner rack and Mal Duncan was this… everyman? anomaly? I dunno. He was cool.

This week, it's turkey time, a la DC COMICS:
