Re: HectorHall Custom Jade and Stripesy page 12. Mon-el pg 1

Postby HectorHall » Tue Apr 15, 2014 12:26 am

Just for fun I thought I would throw up some pics of my very first attempts at customizing. At the time I was purely driven by the desire for characters that were dear to my heart that I never believed would be made in a thousand years.....yeah right. I want to say these go all the way back to 1992 or 93, maybe earlier. I had no idea that there were others doing the same thing, I had no internet to help guide me. I was making it up as I went along. So without further blather...Adam Warlock, Thanos and Drax. Adam was my very first.586

My first DC customs were Deathstroke, Orion, and the Atom. I have them mixed in with my Super Powers collection.

Re: HectorHall Blok LOSH page 14

I used Lead to make Blok. I had no idea that his midsection had an awkward gap until after I had cut away his tunic. So I layered up the apoxie sculpt, trying to maintain articulation, and resculpted his head. I did a base coat in black and then went over in a country grey to bring out the craggy details. The shoulder pieces are cut away from what was left of his tunic.

I had an extra Batman from the New Frontier series. I felt like Spy Smasher fit the era feel of those figures. Whatta you guys think?
