So finally, I'm going to have a major showcase. In short, I have had many probs & delays preventing Me from doing what I do which is providing the most & exciting visual content you'll see here or quite frankly anywhere So, this will be a ginormous, 5-PART SPECIAL that I have been longing to do for a very, very long time of...
Yes, RoboCop and the Ultra Police by Kenner in one of My most fave series' they have ever done. Now if you don't know any of this. The series came out in 1988, a year after the super violent live-action film. It's also somewhat based on the animated cartoon by Marvel of the same name
I'll talk about the show at a later time because showing off the figures that strangely ToyBiz never made, is more imperative at the moment. Even though the series came out in 1988, the series did make to 1989 so this still marks it's 35th Anniversary So I'm going to present the good guys first
RoboCop aka Alex Murphy: As you see he looks just like how he does the movies. Really, he doesn't have any hint at all of animation.
Kenner really had great sculpting in the 80s so few people give them credit about or look back on Look how marvelous he looks here
You can take his removable Helmet off as it reveals his face that is sculpted rather well with the likeness of actor Peter Weller
Now every figure in the series has 'Cap-Firing Action which they all back compartments to place included Paper Roll Firing Caps within their backs. As you see here, I used RoboCop a ton here...look at that
I still have some Paper Roll Firing Caps from way back then. This was such a fun thing for kids back then or at least it was for Me. Today's kids really have no clue how darn fun it was being a child during these exciting times. I think about that every day how every day goes by with more of a chance of things falling to Oblivion in this Limbolic but they could still learn from their elders if they have that passion of knowing how cool those times were
Officer Anne Lewis: Here's Alex/RoboCop's police partner, best friend & love interest. They made her look pretty good but different than her movie appearance. If you looked good at the Logo Header that I made, you noticed that their together
Many of the cops sport Vac-Metal which is one of the many, many things that has a severe amount of dearth in this modern day & age She has this. She clearly has little boobs so there's no doubt that she's female. She has a Crossbow-gun as her weapon of choice...
also since I have an extra Firearm from RoboCop which really, I cannot recall how I got it, I gave that to her
She has a removable helmet...
she has a nice-looking face with earrings.
She is the only woman in the entire series
Sgt. Reid: His character was seen in the movies and has a decent likeness of Robert DoQui. He too has a removeable Helmet as well.
Wheels Wilson is a new character and he looks good, check out his Handcuffs/Binders/Restraints
"Birdman" Barnes is another new character that was added to the cartoon. He was darn cool too
''Ace'' Jackson was yet another newly added entry to the animated show, boy he's really radical.
MAIL AWAY SPECIAL
So, this was during the heyday when you could send in Proof of Purchases/POPs and get free figures via a Mail Away Offer. This is yet another great thing that is really lacking in this pathetic Era that so many people don't talk about and/or acknowledged while people are so distant now. Kenner had their offer for Night Fighter RoboCop...when I saw this I had to have him so as always, My Grandma MiMi did it for Me like she did for My Kenner Star Wars & Hasbro G.I. Joes.. He's always been one of My top figures so here's a good look at Night Fighter RoboCop
I love that his left arm is a Gatling Gun.
Like his regular counterpart, his Helmet is removable with a good likeness of Peter Weller
A major feature of his is that he Glows in the Dark which was yet another great thing about the 80s
VEHICELS
Here's Robo-1, many of it's stickers has come off but it still looks & really nice. You can put two figures in it. I always put RoboCop & Anne in it because their always partners.
Here's the Robo-Cycle, it's extremely beat-up as the Vac-Metal has really come off due to age & play but otherwise it's still pretty decent
