Oh Cloak & Dagger, I never got to that movie yet but soon. Amazing that they chose North By Northwest by Bernard Herrmann as the music in the trailer

Okay, good. It's one heck of a franchise. Yes, it's very hard to beat First Blood. I knew Stallone as Rambo before I knew him as Rocky I believe, I was very young Okay, so here's Rambo Part III from 1988 to complete the original trilogy. You know I love movie posters. I've always loved this one with the snow covered mountains in the background,.



So the story is good and action packed. Sylvester Stallone & Richard Crenna return.



Kurtwood Smith is in the film.



Marc de Jonge is the bad guy and different than the ones in the previous films. Really he set the staging trend for characters of his kind in future action films

Okay, Jerry Goldsmith is back to score the final film of the trilogy. While it's not as powerful as First Blood, it's arguably way more creative and much larger in scale. He was so brilliant. Here's the Cue that made the beginning of the film so grand.



This Cue is darn good. It has some motifs from First Blood mixed in with new orchestral material. Goldsmith was getting bigger & bigger with his score by this time.



This one is pure Goldsmith



So tomorrow I will post Rambo 4. Unfortunately by time that film came out, Goldsmith was gone by 4 years However, his role was taken over by somebody very apropos...think back of a very special spotlight I posted a while ago and you may guess who it is and why he was chosen

See, I knew him as Rocky first. I saw the Rocky films a ton as a kid. Plus, we had the vinyl album to Rocky III which I listened to incessantly when I was little. For my money, movie soundtracks don't get much better than Rocky III and IV. Rambo III was good. Richard Crenna being more involved was great. It was just much more action packed than say First Blood as Rambo was becoming more of an event movie than story based drama. I think a lot of Hot Shots jokes stem more from this than any of the other Rambo movies.

I never knew about Hero Mode. Oh yes, it does feel a like a big event. I knew him as Rocky not too long after Rambo. Oh yeah, My Grandpa bought the Rocky Albums too and I listened to them a ton of times as well. Oh yes, the Rocky music is terrific. Bill Conti was one of the first composers I knew. I absolutely adore his MOTU score. Goldsmith & Williams were the first two. As I got a bit older i realized there was much more than them like James Horner, Alan Silvestri, Danny Elfman, Hans Zimmer I mean the list goes on. Rocky's great but there is so many other good ones than that. I mean like I said before, as much as I love'em, there's more great exciting stuff other than Star Wars, Godzilla, Bruce Lee, Hulk Hogan, Mark McGwire etc. I've always been person that wants a bit of everything and for alternatives. Like Anakin Skywalker said..."I Want More!".

So now here's the big one. Rambo 4 which also goes by the name Rambo IV and John Rambo. In a moment I will get into the music. When I first saw the posters & trailers in 2008, I was like wow, look at Stallone. He looks great and he's bigger than he was before




Now unfortunately Richard Crenna has since passed away A lot of things has changed since the last Rambo in 1988, some for the good and some not I mean it's been 20 years because this one came out in 2008 which was apropos to have the 20th Anniversary between the hiatus gap. Now as I said this was 2008 which was a very different time but a fun year. I've said before about this but everybody I've ever talked to always seems to not notice plus I never seen anybody online ever talk about it. I guess the very, very few people like Me out there that studies & notice years would only think this. 2005 - 2010 was like the 80s in films in terms of gore & violence. Then 2011 happen which I call the tone-down year because the big bang of social media happen, so much CGI, wrestling really turned PG and so forth. So, 2007-2008 was like a time of darkness in movies because nearly every film was either filmed at night in a big city/urban area or rural region. Now there's some dark lighted parts of Rambo 4. The movie is very violent with gore and there some really rough stuff too. Here's this trailer



How apropos is that not too long after that Burma became "Myanmar" in real life, this long awaited Rambo sequel takes place there Oh I love how Rambo sneaks behind that soldier in this UK trailer



Okay, now here's the real fun part. Jerry Goldsmith had passed away in 2004, 20 years already this year. It pains Me how he's almost forgotten, he's composed so many great themes So, who in the heck could fill his legendary shoes and provide a Rambo score that could even measure an half of an inch of the great that composed the original Rambo Trilogy Well it was a superbly wise choice because it was BRIAN TYLER Now if you recall, when I posted Timeline, Brian Tyler REPLACED Jerry Goldsmith for that movie in 2003. Sadly Goldsmith's tremendous rejected score was one of his last You said that you liked Tyler's music. Here's a very important note that you might not know. Jerry Goldsmith composed the Universal Pictures Theme...guess what Brian Tyler performed the new version that you've been seeing over the last decade or so. Tyler has a huge a respect for Goldsmith. There's many times that he tributes him. Here's Goldsmith's theme while Tyler performs it



Remember this history between Goldsmith & Tyler Okay, now back to Rambo. if you recall, Tyler did The Hunted in 2003 as well which was a war film with a similar storyline like First Blood so it would make sense that he would do this film but who chose him you ask Well it was Stallone who did He would use Brian Tyler for his awesome Expendables films later on and boy their were truly epic scores but that will come at a later date. Here's the great Rambo theme by Goldsmith performed by Tyler which you can clearly tell by the sound

Oh yeah, I was really surprised by the amount of violence in that film. You did have things like Saw and Hostel back then, so gore was en vogue, but those always felt more gratuitous, whereas here it was just visual proof that war is hell as they say. The newest Rambo surprised me as well for different reasons, one being that it was pretty short. It's a terrific series of movies though. One of the best collections that spans many years. They're great. Maybe there will be one more. Or maybe it's over.

Okay, not it's time for Rambo V: Last Blood...gosh I love that title



I never seen a Rambo movie at the theater before however I was fortunate enough to see this one at the show in 2019. It was one of the big ones I waited to see all year. In a way it was like other films however, there some things in it that set it apart from others...oh man the climax of the film...that was incredibly shocking there what Rambo did to him but I loved that



I think that this was a good finale to the franchise



Brian Tyler returns with yet another terrific score. Watch this can't miss music video, it's absolutely epic as you see Tyler conducting his orchestra while they show many clips of Rambo through the ages

I really liked the last Rambo movie. I was surprised by a few things in it but it made it feel more reall and less of a cheesy popcorn flick. The fact his niece dies and he get the crap beat out of him added to the drama. And damn if Sly still doesn't look great. It was really short, but there's no point in stretching something out needlessly.

Yes, it had some unexpected moments for sure. Ah tropic Thunder, another one I haven't got to yet. Okay, here's this huge one that has it's 30th Anniversary this year when it came out in 1994...it's True Lies



I was awaiting this film for a long time. My Mom and her boyfriend Allen was going to the show and his kids were going with Us too. He had three boys, 1 adult and the other 2 My age. His daughter was a bit younger than Me. Remember I told My story that We went to Chuck E. Cheese and I defeated the TMNT: Turtles in Time Arcade Game. It was such a great time. So, I wanted to see True Lies while they and his kids wanted to see other movies. Well, We did this twice on two different occasion so I got to see the movie two times and boy I loved every second it, it was so memorable



It's still one of the biggest eventful films of the 90s...



there hasn't been a film with that grand of a feeling since IMO.



So, the epic is directed by James Cameron who did Aliens, Terminator 1 & Terminator 2: Judgement Day & The Abyss not to mention Titanic & Avatar



He's a great one and as good as George Lucas & Steven Spielberg.



The film stars Arnold Schwarzenegger & Jamie Lee Curtis as husband & wife.



Arnold really kinda just looks like a normal big guy here. He trimmed down in around 1989/1990 when he did Kindergarten Cop & Total Recall.



Jamie Lee looks great in this. In fact, I think this is the best she's ever looked



She really showed off her super great physique here in this really sexy & hot yet hilarious scene



She really had a wonderfully booty



She did have great boobs too. Shame she didn't do more like become a big time model and so forth.



The late Bill Paxton is in the film and is as hilarious as ever. Keep in mind he's friends with Cameron and was in The Terminator & Aliens.



The villain in the movie is Art Malik, he was a different one for Arnold at the time but very good too.



A classy hot Tia Carrere is the villainess. She just came off from being in Showdown in Little Tokyo & Wayne's World




A very young Eliza Dushku plays the daughter of Arnold & Curtis.



Tom Arnold & a young Grant Heslov is in the film.




Charlton Heston plays the boss in the film...look at him



The movie is so action packed and has some of the biggest action scenes even as I type this

Now the music is by Brad Fiedel. He's a great one. He did the original Fright Night and both Terminator 1 & 2. His score here is terrific and serves such greatness in the film...by listening to it you know that Arnold is it

I've never watched all of True Lies. By that time I was kind of done with action movies and Ahnold and was looking for more drama/period stuff like westerns and historical films.

I never knew about 2020's Friendsgiving. I see. Okay, here's another great one that has a 30th Anniversary this year in 1994...it's Star Trek: Generations



As I've said in My showcases, I was bad sick in 94 and My life was changed forever. I'm a huge Star Trek fan so this was a must for Me to see at the theater so My Mom took Me to the show at the Kenrick and We saw it. She isn't a Trekkie like Me but she really only knew some of the original cast I knew all of the films...1 - 6 plus The Next Generation. She bought Me many o the excellent Playmates figures that year in 94 as well

NOTE: Last year when We watched all 13 films including the reboots, she thought all were so cool to watch in order like that



This was TNG's first appearances in a film. This was dream come true to see Kirk & Picard aka William Shatner & Patrick Stewart in the same movie together




Here they are, this is why it's called "Generations"



The film's deceiving villain is played Malcolm McDowell.



Kirk, Scottie & Chekov is only ones from the Original Series & previous films to appear in Generations.



The whole crew from TNG appears in the film.



Lursa & B'Etor, the busty Klingon sisters from TNG appear in the film and boy, like Jamie Curtis in True Lies, My 13 years eyes was on them...only in the 90s did you see great women like that



Brian Thompson on the left appears as a Klingon as well.



The movie has great special effects like Star Trek is known for. Generations is arguably the best in the franchise but it's very underrated and even by Me

I don't recall if I ever saw Generations. I was never a huge ST fan though I did see the first few films a bunch on HBO as a kid, and I never watched The Next Generation so there wasn't much to get me interested. I did see the next one with the Borg though because my good friend was really into TNG and we went to see it. But I never really got involved with much Trek after the original cast series and movies.

Well, you can't have turkey without Steve Martin and John Candy. Some of this was actually filmed locally. A lot of the thruway scenes were filmed around Buffalo and the surrounding area.
