Thanks guys! It's always nice to hear your work is appreciated. I've got some stuff started and in various stages of completion just some minor frustrations standing in the way of getting them completed. But, for now, enjoy the following:

Rima the Jungle Girl

She's straight up a Poison Ivy repaint. Painted the body suit and used the leafy edges as kind of a stitching/jungle design. Obviously I painted her skin and hair and used the main leaf design in her hair and painted like a flower to add an extra little bit of color. I also chose not to go the shoulder strap route as I felt it ultimately unnecessary.

Why Rima you ask? Well, I am working on something that I am extremely excited about. Nothing major for sure but it makes me happy. I have come a long way in a short time and when it is finished I will be very proud. I'll post when everything is completed. Hopefully you'll be as jazzed about it as I am.

As an aside: When she arrived I was looking her over and making sure everything was OK when I noticed something with her neck - not broken but not glued. When I tried to remove her head the neck pin popped right out with it! I placed back and tried to secure the neck hoping to put the head back on without any foul ups. It did not work. I had to try several times to put the head back on dunking it in hot water every time which then made the paint come off so I had to repaint a lot. She looked sooo much better before the repainting. I have since been advised on using a heat gun to avoid such messes in the future so it is something I will be looking into.

Black Alice

This is mostly a black skirt Supergirl with an Arkham Harley head and fishnets from a Zatanna figure. I cut off the pigtails from Harley and painted the hair and her face trying to keep the black eyeliner look and ditching the rest. I painted the shirt black and the trimming on the shirt and skirt white to kinda break thing up a bit. I did paint the fleshy parts of the figure except for the legs as I thought the fishnets would help to hide that fact. I removed the boots and hooked the fishnets around the peg on the leg and slid the boot back on and had to remove the skirt and then took the legs off entirely then had to cut a bit of net to get them around the hip pegs - or whatever you want to call them - replaced the legs and skirt and cut some more netting to get the wholes in the fishnets for my desired look. And voila la you have a Black Alice.

I gotta say I got really excited about this one. I'm so relieved that it turned out so well and EXACTLY as I had envisioned it to be. I hope you guys like it.

BTW I greatly appreciate the comments on my work very much. Whether I feel like I deserve them for whatever latest "masterpiece" I created or not. The positivity keeps up for any future endeavors and to potentially finish some that have been languishing in the past. Your appreciation and your own customs inspire me to ever try and achieve and grow more to attempt new things. I know that sometimes things don't work out as I had planned or envisioned but you gotta start somewhere. You'll never get any better if you don't try and fail some. Thank you guys.

Also, has anyone attempted to make a Super Powers Orion? I have an idea floating around in my head but was wondering if anyone has done it.

I have not, since Kenner and Mattel gave us theirs….curious which way you’re thinking about him though; gonna try the Kenner head gimmick?

Wonder Woman Bronze Age

Much like my GA WW this is just a WW figure repurposed. I sanded down the WW breast emblem and sculpted the eagle wings and ab piece and painted. I painted the bracelets and had to touch up the boots and swap the head for the one that came off the figure for my GA WW. The seller I got it from had touched it up with gold to resemble their "golden Amazon Warrior glow". I have no clue what the hell he's talking about "Amazon glow". Is it a mythology thing? Fortunately most of it rubbed off - and took some paint with it which is why I had to touch up the boots - it also dulled the crap out of the white stripes on the boots. I didn't try to get the gold out of the hair as I had the extra head and could just replace it. If I need the head further down the line for something I'll revisit it but otherwise . . .

Wendy, Marvin & Wonderdog

Marvin is a Diablo Suicide Squad figure with Robin cape and GA head. I sanded down the mask as best I could. I was concerned about ruining the nose and other bits so I maybe didn't do as great a job as it takes but I'm just doing this for me, I ain't trying to win awards. I wanted the curly-q Robin head because the hair style seemed a great fit for Marvin.

Wonderdog is an Ace League of Super-Pets figure. I was actually elated when I saw him on eBay. I was trying to figure out how to do a Wonderdog and this just fell into my lap. Serendipity at work. I just painted him and sanded down the inner ear parts to flatten them out. I may decide to bend his ears down to get a more accurate portrayal or I may not.

Wendy is a combination of a Cassie Sandsmark Wonder Girl, Star Sapphire and Vixen. Waist to neck is WG, the collar is Sapphire and legs and head are Vixen. I liked WG for the body because tunic - or whatever you call it - I thought would be great for Wendy's sweater plus she has the belt line. I know she always wore a full torso sweater - or whatever - but I thought the half sweater would have a more modern look. The bracelets I also thought would be great for her cuffs. I also had an extra Star Sapphire collar handy so I added that so I wouldn't have sculpt one. I switched the complete leg-ature with Vixen because WG has the boots and Vixen had a more flat heel plus the accents on the feet which I painted black to add some design flair and tried my best to sculpt the bottom of her legs to resemble her pants legs. I had tried looking at other heads but Vixen had the short hairdo required for Wendy so I just took some of the Hair in front of her eye off to open things up a bit, cut her earrings off and painted.

I did the Jr Super-Heroes for something I'd been working on but didn't want to reveal until it was complete and now it is so I'll be posting new pics to my collection thread in the next few days. I hope you like my efforts.

Savant - I really thought long and hard about Orion's head twist thing. I have an idea about how to work it but I'm not sure if it'll ultimately work. I'm thinking MOTU Man-E-Faces or even a LOTDK Clayface - at least for the wheel o'heads anyway. If not I do have an idea how to work it out it just wouldn't be a true remake just an "in the spirit of" remake. Unfortunately, Mattel only did the New Gods head and not his beastly Apokoliptian head BUT! DCD did give us both heads in the Orion/Darkseid 2pk. The Kirby version also has both heads but is too artist specific I think to meld with DCUC but it would beastly enough so maybe wouldn't be off-putting. So, we'll see.

Black Manta

The Ultimate Black Manta! I don't know why this never occurred to me before especially with what I'll tell you in a little bit but: I removed the head and tanks from a regular W2 Manta and the 2pk Manta and swapped them out then painted the eyes and nodules on the helmet and tank. I always liked the silver color of the 2pk over the dull gray of W2 and I also didn't like the Easter Egg coloring of the 2pk so I combined them. Much like I did with the W2 Aquaman figures. Plus my 2pk Manta secreted some kind of substance that made the figure tacky. Anyone else run into this issue? My biggest complaint is that the 2pk Manta didn't come with a spear, just the gun - which is painted in line with the helmet so if I got an extra spear it would look different, I don't know if I should bother with it or not.

This was so easy and obvious. Has anyone else made this swap?

Honestly the thought never crossed my mind…I had the weird feeling “Blue Manta” but that texture was interesting. Sold the Blue Manta but kept that Aquaman and repainted the legs and gloves

Great idea on that switcheroo
